I guess after almost 64 years of togetherness we can still disagree. I like the swing of the clouds and by cutting off some of he top you would lose that. What I do like that Stu did, although I'd like it a little less on center, is the funnel lighting. Nice image overall. |

wow!!! What a stunning image. Even I who hates mornings would make it my business to be up before sunrise with hopes of getting anything close to this.
Have you tried adding a few clouds in Luminar if you have it? Might not be as good as what you got, but never know if you don't try. |

Beautiful image. One of the places I'd love to get to but probably never will. I think it might lose something by eliminating the sky but you might give it a try. I think I might try to enhance the sky a bit as I feel without it the remaining almost all green palette would change the whole beauty of the image. |

I find this a fascinating image. My first reaction was that it might be a batter of some kind and wondered what you were preparing. Funny how the eye sees what you sometimes think you are seeing rather than the actuality. Love the colors and textures of both the rock and varieties of sand |

Nice shot Jean. I concur with the other comments and would like to offer a hint. I used to frequent Butterfly World here in Florida and shot more shots than I could ever count. Their curator offered me the following: Butterflies are least active when the weather is cooler. Therefore try to stay away from the very warm or hot days as the butterflies are too active and therefore more difficult to shoot. |

David, this is gorgeous. Where in Florida is this? I'm on the south east coast area between West Palm Beach and Ft. Lauderdale and would love to keep this in mind if it's a reasonable distance. I'm somewhat limited as my husband uses a walker and with back issues finds it uncomfortable to do very long drives but we both want to shoot so I'm always looking for new local or at least reasonably local things I can convince him to try. |

You did a great job on this building. Well composed, the textures on the building itself are obvious and the icing on the cake is the sky. Was that natural or maybe borrowed from Photoshop or Luminar? And, by the way did you see the plane (?) up there just to the left of the left tower? |

John this is a lovely image. I particularly like the blue shading around the wheels. Was this a texture or your artistic hand with a paintbrush. Only one small glitch on the rear of the front left tire is th highlighted "stroke" partially around the tire. Calls my eye right to the spot and easily removed. Overall a very well done image. |

Nice image. Based on the image...check the U on the building, I feel pretty certain that you did flip it but never made the change on the U. I wonder if you would have been able to get the full height of the building had you stepped back a bit and then cropped in post processing.
Nicely done. |

This flower is so sharp it leaves you unlimited opportunities to play with the options. It is lovely as it is and I certainly like Steve's suggestion. I would like to suggest that you also try to play with textures altering the background. I did try to create a suggestion for you; but, when I tried to retrieve it to post, it disappeared and I just don't have the time right now to redo the whole thing. If you'd like further information on working with textures, take a look at Marie Altenburg's website, mariealtenburg.com. It's a treasure trove. |

This is so creative that for me it's mind boggling. |

This is a lovely image. I did, however, notice a couple of things that I thought might improve it so I took a couple of liberties to make suggestions.
The trees on the extreme right seem a bit tilted to I brought it into photoshop and using the transform option straightened them out a bit; and personal taste, the sky is pretty outstanding whereas, to me the "strawish" grass is just o.k., so I cropped it a bit to give the whole image a more panoramic feel. Would appreciate your comments. |

Please don't misunderstand me as I don't mean to be critical, but in that this is a study group, I'd like to offer a suggestion. The image is well done but kind of "I came, I saw, I shot it". I don't know if you have the latest photoshop but if you do, have you tried sky replacement?. If you have don't and you have your own collection of skies it's a bit more time consuming, but at the very least, you can enhance the sky just enough to be more than just there.
Again, I hope you do not take offense as it is not meant that way. |

Part of my problem is when I submit for a club competition 9 out of 10 times it shows up a bit washed out so I've been tending to try to get the colors more intense. It's going in for March so I'll let you know how it does. |

Emily, this is a lovely image. However, I'm not sure why you included that wide white border. So, when I opened the image the first thing I did was remove it. Then, while I was working on the image, I opened Topaz Studio 2 and chose their suggested basic improvement option and got this result. Hope you like it. |

I love the colors in this. I'm not a big fan of abstracts as usual but this one is done very well. Actually in looking at the original to my eyes it's not that soft. If you have it, try taking it into Topaz Sharpen AI. It works wonders. Another option if you have it is to go into Topaz 2 and open up Smudge and sharpen there. Another great sharpening tool. Then, if you haven't done it, try playing with masks. I saw a couple of webinars done by Marie Altenburg (article in the January issue of the PSA Journal on sharpening that will blow your mind. See if you can get your camera club to set up a webinar with her...mariealtenburg.com it is more than the most worthwhile webinar I have ever attended. |

Love the colors in the mountains. What is appearing a little strange about the sky is that it almost looks like the mountains are pasted onto thee sky. Did you replace the sky? If so, you need to soften the edge of the mountain just a tab so it doesn't look pasted on. Otherwise an super image. |

I like what you did with this. The black space for me is quite appropriate, as I find the white in the original distracting. I also very much like that "floor" on which his tail is resting. You are just enough off center to make it interesting. I only wish his head were a little more defined on first look, or stood out a bit more. I hope someone has a suggestion for that, because I'm the gal who knows what I think I'd like but not always knows how to accomplish it. Overall well done. |

I have always been a flower shooter and lately I have been working on improving my results. Sorry to say this one is not sharp. You might be able to improve it somewhat playing with textures. See Marie Altenburg's article in the January issue of the PSA journal. She does some marvelous work with textures and I've salvaged more than I can count after playing with them myself. |

This image is technically correct and your caption is so very appropriate. However, having been participating in a gzillion club competitions lately, I have to be honest, I doubt that it would score well because of the position of the bird, although it does deserve more than just a pass by a judge. I ALWAYS say I shoot for myself but find myself thinking about the judges. |
