Great capture. The image is tack sharp and your choice of background enhances the overall image. |

This is a beautifully well done image. It truly brings the past to life and to me her position in sort of staring at the tombstone elicits a tone of remembrance combined with the sadness of a loss. |

You did a great job of bringing back the color to the image, but in my opinion it is a bit overdone losing some of the contrast. In my image feedback, I took the image into photoshop/adjustments/brightness and just tuned down the overall brightness which brings out the colors in the windows, etc. |

I love this flower. The contrast between the flower and the background works well, but I would like to see a comparison with the background softened just a bit, which would enhance the sharpness of the flower. Overall, very well done. |

Brings me back to our wonderful trip to Japan many years ago. I think your idea of enhancing the sky with Luminar is excellent. I also find that the enhancement of the temple that Stu did is a real plus, but I find his choice of sky a bit to dark for my taste with the brightened temple. |

Shaikh, this is a beautiful flower but on my screen it's a bit soft. If you don't have it, I suggest taking into Topaz Sharpen AI. That filter works wonders and as it happens I received a discount link so here it is:

Tells the story very well, but I wonder if the result would have been better if it was shot from another angle without that big tree in the background. Image, itself is well done. |

I think the image is well done but I prefer Brian's suggestion with the black rather than the blue which I feel takes away from the subject.
As an aside, the comments re duplicating last month's image had me curious so I went back and see a different image in both July and June. Am I missing something? |

This is so wonderful. Brings me back to one of the few regrets I have in life. We were invited to JFK's inauguration and had to turn it down as my son was not even a year old, money issues, babysitting issues, etc. But I promised my friend who was our committee woman and issued that comer hell or high water, we'd make it for 1964. So much for not jumping on the opportunity. I don't think I ever really forgave myself for that one. |

I am Stu's wife and regularly visit all the groups. You are lucky to have been assigned to an active group with some very talented photographers.
As to the softness issue, I brought your beautiful rose into photoshop and applied the Topaz Sharpen AI which I believe has improved your result. If you don't already have the Topaz filters, you might want to view some of their tutorials online with an eye to expanding your library. I find each one is better than the next.

I agree with Michael's comments so I brought it into Photoshop and made some changes.
I first brought it into photoshop and went to transform. Using the option to skew, I straightened the minarets a bit.
I then added a nondestructive layer mask and brightened the towers just a bit.
Followed that by adding a sky in Luminar and for a bit of interest added a few birds to the sky.
Went to Topaz Sharpen AI and sharpened the entire image. And then went to Topaz Studio 2 and added the Travel to Tortuga image.
Hope you like the final result.

You are so right, they are different. Apparently they were next to each other in the file and I grabbed the wrong one. My eyes must be joining all the other effects of self-quarantine. Actually this was the only texture I tried because I liked the different shading when I first looked at it. Is this flower showing up as pink on your screen? It is definitely shades of purple which brought me to the colors on the upper left of the texture with a touch of brightness on the lower right.
Thanks so much for visiting and for your valuable input. |

I have all of the Topaz filters and rely very heavily on them. I am sorry but I should have noted at the time which one I used. Chances are it was Adjust AI. May I suggest that you view some of the online tutorials for the different filters in Studio 2. You will find them fascinating. Also, if you didn't see the Luminar webinar you might want to see that one as well as they also have some amazing "stuff". |

Emily, I do have some issues with this image, but I hope that you will accept my comments strictly as an attempt at constructive suggestions and understand that they are in no way meant to be demeaning. I agree that a crop might be better. That said, the first thing I see is the bright tree in the foreground which takes away from the subjects. Secondly, I find the new building looks like it's floating in the sky. You also mention the original but did not provide it for comparison. I do very much like the old building with it's textures and construction features. |

I like the image, but I feel there's a bit too much dead space in the foreground so in my feedback, I cropped a bit off the foreground and to add a bit of punch, I went into Topaz Studio 2 and used the Travel to Tortuga look to kick it up. What do you think. |

What an interesting subject. Why do they call it Split Rocker? It look more like a dog to me. The image is very well done, good contrast and appropriate brightness for a sunny day. My only suggestion would be to try moving it a bit of center by cropping off a bit more of the left side. |

This is a beautiful image. I must admit, though, David's feedback image offers a tremendous improvement re the cropping. I don't, however, feel that sharpening the back flower was necessary as the bit of softness somewhat emphasizes the "depth" of the image.
Well done. |

Fabulous image. I did try lightening the butterfly's head a bit but it was very difficult as it is so dark. I did however brighten his antenna just a touch which I think may be an improvement. Overall, just catching that bee at the same time the butterfly is feeding is a real stroke of luck.
Well done. |

I tried playing with this image in photoshop to see if I could produce better leading lines without distorting it. My result wasn't great but it can probably be done if you want to salvage. The biggest problem was the floor. What I did was create a new image same with greater height; pasted the old one onto it, and then selectively copied, pasted and distorted portions of the bar wall, etc. onto the blank space created by the new canvas size. If you have more than one shot you would probably be a lot more successful thn I was. |

When I got CC it included Lightroom, which I would love to learn, but the online courses seem to be running anywhere from $ 350 and up and right now that's beyond my budget, so I'm plugging along with Photoshop, Topaz and Luminar. The sky was so white I added the blue because I thought it looked better than empty space I guess I certainly could have tuned it down. It was actually not a very bright day as it was heading into winter at the time, if I remember correctly. Part of the problem in grabbing reflections is that the canals are narrow and the buildings overshadow everything even though they are not very tall.
Thanks for your input. I am going to print it out and see if I can get some of those changes made. |
