This is an absolutely beautiful and moving image. I love your comment as I, too, have found since joining and administering group 48, my photography (in my opinion) has improved tremendously and oft times the suggestions of my compatriots have improved my compositions and technical skills to the point of coming in on top at our club competitions. Keep up the good work. |

For me this image is a study in the main subject. Martin's improvement is a good one but I prefer your cropped image as a portrait of the barber concentrating on his craft. |

For me this is a super image and unless the competition is on musical instruments, I think that it wouldn't matter if he was playing a tree trunk, the subject is the image itself and the final result of your artistic work. Very well done. |

My first reaction to this image was that his cell phone is in the hidden hand and more important to him than being where he is or visiting the tower for what may be a once in a lifetime opportunity.
Excellent captute |

What a powerful image. Hate to be macabre but the first thing it brought to mind was memories of Hitler's Germany and the suffering of millions. Extremely well done. |

This is great...reminds me of an image I shot last week at the South Florida Fair - half way between a powerful light at a railroad station and a ferris wheel. |

Interesting concept. My thought is that the fact that you photographed someone else's art may have been a factor in the rejection. But I like it anyhow. |

This is a very unusual image and quite pretty; however, I'm not sure I'd want to go swimming in this canal. Great Work. And by the way, Best wishes (although a bit late but better late than never) for a very Healthy and Happy New Year. |

I certainly did not mean to be critical regarding removal of the two ladies, just offering another opinion. I did read your comment on making zebras colorful. One of my favorite renditions of that was done by my friend Marie Altenburg. Take a look at her image at flicker.com/mariealtenburg and smile along with me. |

Years ago I played with creating cubes and you just gave me a wonderful idea. We visited the Boca Raton Orchid Festival yesterday and I got some really good images for a change. One of these days you might see something like this in one of my groups. Thanks. |

I found the two ladies in the front a little distracting so I eliminated them by using Content Aware. I liked the idea that it leaves the viewer wondering what the lady in red is looking at. Would be interested in your comments |

The building is beautiful. As there is so very much foliage,I would crop off some on the left side that extends past the building. It's just a bit overpowering for me. |

For me this is an interesting study in facial expressions and trying to read what they're thinking Are they people watching, looking for their waitress or something else? Love the monochrome on this. Very well done |

I find it interesting that in visiting all of the groups every month, I always come across a few images that bring back memories of my own experiences. Several years ago I was with my first photography teacher in Central Park in N.Y. on a photography expedition. We came across a homeless person half asleep on a bench with a face that I wanted to photograph. My teacher, and dear friend, walked over to him, requested permission to photograph him and gave him $ 5.00. He was delighted to get the $ 5.00 and agreed, never moved from his unposed pose and I have the memory (although not the best image I have shot) of a wonderful day with a dear friend who has passed on
As to this image I prefer Isaac's square crop and do think it might be even more powerful in monochrome. But, overall I do like the image and the story it tells. |

I love this image. Cloning out that image over her head is probably a matter of personal preference. I did not even really notice it till I started reading the reviews. I might, however, considered cloning out the "shadows" on the wall slightly to the right of her head. Simple task with a content aware fill. Otherwise a perfect shot with beautiful coloring and excellent subject placement. |

This image for me is reminiscent of boarding the Bullet Train in Tokyo many years ago and having as many people as possible being crammed into every car.
That aside, I too would like to have seen the child in the image. The color is fine but I think I, too, prefer the monochrome to tell the story without the distraction of color. |

I find this an interesting image and a reminder of the days of growing up in New York City 70 years ago in a 4 family house and things like bicycles could be left out and never touched by anyone other than their owners. I must say, I must be missing something but I do not see rebellion in this image at all. Technically it is well done but I do agree with Karen re cropping off that little bit on the right. |

The front hand being out of focus in not really a big issue. The image is strong and tells a nice story. The entire image is bit soft which can be easily corrected with some of the filters on the market today. Other than that, I think the others have said it all. |
