Absolutely beautiful.

I love this image. Brings back memories of my chip to China in the early 1990s. On my screen the dancers are a little soft so I brought it into Photoshop, opened Topaz Studio 2 and then utilized the sharpening tool to zap it once or twice. Added the finishing touch with a non destructive layer mask on the "fan" background to tone down the brightness just a touch to serve as a vignette. Hope you like it.

3 Jan 20 Comment Visiting from 48 & 80. Following is what I would call unable to make a decision. I prefer the brighter background, yellow trees and lighter sky on the horses with heads up but like the angle with the heads down. So if you were undecided before add that cream to your cake. Actually they're both beautiful images. Jan 13th
3 Jan 20 Comment Visiting from 48 & 80. I have spent hours at our local aquarium and have not been able to get anything even half this good. Great image. Jan 13th

4 Jan 20 Reply Please don't get me wrong. The excitement I was referring to is in the image itself. The occasion itself deserves all reverence and solemnity that can be afforded it. As it is, as we all age, the memories tend to fade and these are remembrances that should never fade. Jan 13th
4 Jan 20 Comment Visiting from 48 & 80. Agreeing with the majority this is a good journalistic record, but for me lacks "excitement". I was in London many years during Remembrance Sunday and was very impressed by the number of people and decorum exhibited during such massive demonstrations. Jan 13th
4 Jan 20 Comment Visiting from 48 & 80; Very creative image. As to fire, just hop over to Australia, they'll be happy to give you all the fire you want and then some. Jan 13th

5 Jan 20 Comment With all the knitting I do, I would think I might have come up with this idea. I could probably create my own rainbow of colors and textures. It is lovely and you've given me an incentive to play with table top photography. Jan 13th

7 Jan 20 Comment Visiting from 48 & 80. I tried removing some of the spots with Content Aware - Fill but to do the job would really entail enlarging the photo tremendously and working on one spot at a time with questionable results. Don't know if I'd have the patience. Overall the image is very pleasing. Jan 13th

9 Jan 20 Comment I do not believe that what you describe constitutes "photographing someone else's art". The issue in her case was that no change was made to the art itself. Jan 16th
9 Jan 20 Reply Would love to see you here in Florida one of these days Jan 16th
9 Jan 20 Comment Well done. The almost monochromatic coloring tells the story of drought with some what gray skies and no rain promise. Jan 13th
9 Jan 20 Comment Beautiful image Shaikh. Very creative way of presenting it. Jan 13th

10 Jan 20 Comment Visiting from 48 & 80. I love where the imagination can go with this imae. I think an improvement might be to use a non-destructive layer mask and darken the mountains just a bit so that the "dragon" is offset by a bit. Jan 13th

20 Jan 20 Comment Excellent creative result. If you're as big a Topaz fan as I am, read my note on Fred's image re the discount offer I received. Jan 18th

I am in love with all of the Topaz filters I have used and this one works fine for me. It is a really lovely creative result; but, I have to agree with the others, the added wording takes away too much as I, also, find it very distracting.

As an add on since I recently purchased another one of their filters, I received the following discount code and was told I was free to pass it on, so be my guest: http://topazlabs.refr.cc/beverlycaine. Save the 15 percent andhave fun

This image is very well done and quite lifelike. However, the one "downer" is the solid vertical line on the left with its "topper" squared off to the right. Although my computer wouldn't copy it in color to show you what I meant, I was able to duplicate it in mono and with 3 steps eliminate those lines with a content-aware fill. Would be interested in your response.

This is my kind of image. The only thing I might have adjusted slightly is the very dark cloud on the right. Keep it but may be town it down just a bit so it doesn't pull the eye away from the center of the image.

27 Jan 20 Comment You could try Luminar 4 for the sky. My husband has had some great success with it. I haven't tried it yet. Jan 21st

This is a beautiful image; however, I did find the sky and fence a bit distracting so, I cropped the image at the top of the house and then eliminated the other stuff up there with content-aware fill. See my result.

34 Jan 20 Comment Candy, this is a wonderful image. Wish I had thought of it when we were in England many moons ago. Jan 18th

48 Jan 20 Comment Somewhere along the line I know I've heard that photographing someone else's art is pretty much a no no for competitions, correction, etc. However if you make a change to the art itself, it becomes a different ball game. I think to demonstrate Washington, you might have done better to take a long shot including surroundings and found a way in te image to highlight this "quilt". I'd really like to hear what everyone else has to say as I don't want to sound too picky. Hope you understand. Jan 12th
48 Jan 20 Reply One difference I guess is that, if you notice, I changed it a bit. I was larger, I cropped it to size, and to be honest I never thought about candy as art you do have a very valid point of discussion. And, no I would never get upset over this kind of issue. Jan 12th
48 Jan 20 Comment Works for me Jan 11th
48 Jan 20 Comment Beautiful image but I wish you would provide more detail, where you took it, any problems in creating the image, etc. These are not easy good shots to get. Give us some hints. Jan 11th
48 Jan 20 Comment My least favorite vegetable second only to brussels sprouts and you create such a lovely image out of it. Well Done! Jan 11th
48 Jan 20 Comment Don't mean to be critical but although this is an interesting shot, it is nothing more than a copy of someone else's art. Part of the study group is offering suggestions to improve the art and although this type of work is lovely, suggestions for improvement just don't work here. Hope you understand where I'm coming from. Jan 11th

This is a wonderful image. A touch of toning down the ceiling might be a plus. Otherwise to me this is A1

Creative is the understatement of the year. I often photograph things like this with great ideas and then when I sit down to work them actuality and dreams don't meet. Fabulous result.

Both beautiful images and although I have not entered many exhibitions, if I did I'd go with the first image. I think it's a bit stronger and the face is always a plus.

80 Jan 20 Comment I think I would have liked to see this from the other side of the window with a glimpse of her actually reading. I don't think she was really concerned about her privacy or she wouldn't have been sitting in the window in the first place. Overall a nice fun shot that probably offered other opportunities Jan 11th
80 Jan 20 Comment I like the b&w better than the color on this one as well. To me his smile is so much more prominent in the mono. I love my Canon as well and am so comfortable with it, but I now carry a "little" one of a few I have that weigh ounces when I'm doing a lot of walking, etc.
Back to the image, it exudes happiness and for me it an very successful project.

80 Jan 20 Comment Image definitely tells the story of the mob looking for something, but I too found that I reacted negatively to the bus and thought I might have tried a way to eliminate it. Leaves the viewer wondering what's up there. Jan 11th
80 Jan 20 Comment Great image. Can't decide if I like the color or B&W better. Very well done Jan 11th
80 Jan 20 Comment This one is beautiful. Much as I've lost a lot of my appetite for hours of flying, I am often tempted to head back to London and Paris if only for the photography Jan 11th
80 Jan 20 Comment I thank the photo gods every day for the efficiency of Topaz filters Jan 5th
