I appreciate the comments. Of the thousands of photos I've taken through the years, this remains one of my favorites. I spent the day on the boat with Mr. Crosby and his stern man, Willie, photographing the lobstering process. It was an interesting day and by the time I got home, all I wanted was a lobster dinner with the lobsters Sam gave me. |

Beautiful shot. Agree with Francois that the sliver of land at the bottom could have been dispensed with. On the other hand, it lends a sense of scale to the lake. I'd be fine with it either way. |

I, too, looked at how cropping the top of the photo might help by scrolling the photo up in my browser until the top scrolled out of the screen. The problem with cropping out the top of the mountain is there's then no context for the stairway on the right. If your crop allows, adding more sky might be best. Otherwise, the terrain of the mountainside is interesting and my only suggestion might be a small selective increase in contrast for that area. Interesting photo of dramatic terrain. |
