Hi Isaac -
I definitely like your interpretation. I agree that with the square crop and decreasing the brightness of the petal in the left upper corner, which Richard also suggested, the bee stands out much, much better. |

Hi Richard - Thank you for your comments, and the suggestion regarding slightly bringing down the brightness of the light and whitish petal. I can see how that can draw away the viewer's attention from the bee. |

Bruce - It's great to see an image of these orcas that you took from a trip that you took 25 years ago. I like how you captured only parts and pieces of the creatures, leaving much to the viewers' imagination. I do agree with cropping the very first orca. The rocks and the details in the water make for a strong sense of place. |

Hi Adrian - Very pretty image of the lovely water lilies and their reflections. I can only imagine how awesome it must have been to see so many varieties of these delicately beautiful flowers. I actually prefer the symmetry of the original crop. |

Isaac, I haven't seen penguins in the wild so your great shot of these three with their sharp reflections, plus some information on them, are a special treat! The two in front share a not too happy facial expression but the third one in the back seems to be in a better disposition. All three, however, look very well fed. |

Richard, your image of this totally cute oyster catcher chick with the blurred imaged of its mother draws the viewers' attention on the chick who seems to be testing its own freedom and independence. I like how you captured its "wandering and wondering" body posture and facial expression. |

Hi Karen - I haven't photographed spiders before, so this super cool image of the peppered jumping spider (who comes up with this brilliant names!) with such sharp details inspires me to be on the look out for these pretty and attractive creatures. I like how the hair on the plant stem mimic the hair on the spider and the eyes are crystal clear. |

Hi Maria - As someone who likes to photograph butterflies, I can appreciate your remarks about the challenges of photographing them. However, I must congratulate you for this fabulous capture of a very special moment and echo the previous comments. I haven't spotted cabbage butterflies around here. The combination of the pair of butterflies with their pastel colored wings and grass seeds (?) and the background color makes for a very pleasing and calming summer scene. Beautiful! |
