Hi Bruce, thanks for mentioning that the Bluffs near the children's beach in La Jolla is a great place to photograph sea lions, seals and shore birds in February. I visit family there but have not been to this area of the children's beach. Will keep this in mind the next time I'm there.
This is a superb action image of a sea lion and the color and the details of the water and rock add much value to the story. |

Maria, your image of the Cuckoo wasp, which I've seen around here in southern California, is splendid. I don't have much to add to all the well deserved positive comments except that the minute details and the metallic colors of the bug and the beautiful gradation of the color of the flower, then the various shades of green in the background make for a breathtakingly exquisite image. |

Hi Karen, what a touching and sweet moment between the penguin and the chick. I think the way you cropped the original draws the focus and viewer's attention to the loving facial expressions of these two totally cute creatures.

Hi Richard, your image of the black-necked stilts and 2 chicks (one hidden) tells a compelling and beautiful story. I like how you captured the one tiny and delicate looking chick leaning its head on the mother. I'd prefer if you remove the legs of the hidden chick as to me, these detract from rather than add to the image. |

Hi Adrian, what a delightful image of the Amazon Pink Dolphin. I've never heard nor seen pink dolphins before; what a treat. I agree with the comments that getting rid of the string draws the attention to the adorable dolphin. I love the details in the water and the sharp and clear expression on the dolphin's face, and all the details on the skin. I feel like picking this creature up and giving it a tight hug. |

Hi Isaac - your image of this brown bear that looks very content while feasting on salmon is spectacular. All the sharp details; his nose and nostrils, his soulful eyes, the water droplets around his mouth, the tiny bugs over and around his head, the remains of the salmon and his sharp claws; all these give life and energy to your powerful image.

Hello, Maria,
I'm pleased that my image of the cormorant and the pelican evoked some great memories of the time you spent in Australia, specifically Long Reef. Thank you for your feedback on my PP work since this remains a growth area in my photography journey.

Thank you for you kind comments, Richard. Yes, that smudge must have occurred during PP. Will keep this in mind on future PP. |
