Jon,
I love the dominance of the seaweed in the image. Once my eyes circle the seaweed, they wonder off to focus on the other more muted elements of the image.
I, too, usually have a subtle vignette on my images. It serves to draw the viewers eye inward. Subtle is the key as you really don't want it noticeable Susan |

Peter,
It is the month for churches. Sad that this beautiful church was sold to become a home. I am trying to make out what is around the windows. Are they branches/vines or painting on the building?
The roof lines mimic the lines of the mountains. Great composition. I assume it was a stunning image in color as well. Susan |

Ian, I shot a waterfall from a similar point of view. I found it hard to get just the right composition. You did a great job in capturing the perspective of the scene. The rounded wall is perfect. Great work
I will post my waterfall next month to get the feedback from the group. Susan |

Michael,
Great capture. I really enjoy the shape of the church and how it is reflected in the shape of the mountain. AS I look more closely the triangle of rock to the right of the church is also a "reflection" in the mountain behind it. Great repetition.
I am not sure how I feel about the stroke around the image. I might suggest letting the image stand alone. Susan |

After several joint replacements, it was great to be out shooting again. I was not happy with my tripod head and most of my images were captured hand held. I was rock solid thanks to my two new shoulders. I enjoyed the trip so much, that I will return Feb 26 to see the wild life. I look forward to your feedback on some of my other shots that I will be posting in the next few months. Susan |

Peter,
Take a look at Michael Kenna's work on line. He has inspired many photographers. I have his book on Japan and l=this weekend O looked at it again. I was amazed that many of my images where taken in similar locations and captured the same trees. Stay tuned as I will be posting them. Susan

I believe you can find a "still life" composition anywhere. I looked at the image before I read the comments. My initial thought was to remove the upper fence but before i read on, I changed my mind. However, I might suggest you pull up the corner as the angle is steeper than the one below.
My other thought was "where is the water". You explanation answered that questions. Susan |
