Nick,
I took your suggestions and removed the sign. It took a lot of effort as I did it in pieces using the patch tool. I wondered after I go done if it would have been fasted to use content aware (next time). thants for the suggestions and the revised image. Susan |

Ed,
Thanks for the suggestions and those of the others in the group. I agree that more contrast and no sign will make it a better image. Susan |

Nick,
I love the fact that you gave us a before and after of this image. My suggestions would be to crop to a square taking off some of left side of the image. I might then suggest a linear filter to darken the left side of the image (starting at the upper left hand corner and also from the bottom to darken this area sas well. Nice work. Susan |

Ian,
I love the movement in your image and the feeling of going somewhere. I agree with the others who commented on removing the second image from the left as it appears to be going though the pole. Also would suggest removing the square object on in the second frame from right. Would be great if you would have been able to get the two figure to have separation between them but not always possible. Great detail and light. |

peter,
I enjoy looking at your image. The starkness intensives the cold environment. I agree with the comments to remove the flag pole and also to leave it as a balance to the church. If removed I would also crop that side of the image. If left in the image, perhaps toning down the whiteness of the pole. I love the contrast of the show on the roof. Great detail. Susan |

You take an ordinary scene and give it drama. As the others have all commented, the leading line of the road takes the viewer back in the image to the tree and sky. Intensity of the tree gives it a separation from the dark clouds. I am always doing boarder patrol and would suggest the you darken the snow line on the left as it tends to draw me out of the image. Your image made me smile. I like the juxtaposition of the junk pile to the washer and drier.it makes a statement. No suggestions on how to improve image as it is well done. Susan |

I love the clarity and the sharpess of your image. Stacking the images allows th eview to read all the decals and give the image a 3D quality. Great work. Susan |

Peter,
Getting inside the buildings was a great expereince. It required that you have a park ranger with you at all time. Since the earthquake, I am not sure if this is still an option. Susan |

Nick,
Thnkas for your suggestions. I had not thought to take out the sign and was trying to determine how to get the relationship of the picture to the sign in my title. However, I like the image so much better without the sign. Susan |

Happy to be back. I had a shoulder replacement and can now use the mouse. However, cant hold more than 2 pounds so it will be a few more weeks before I can hold a camera. Susan |

Lauren,
Lovely image. However, I too find that the perspective seems off when viewing the image. You might try using transform in PS and pulling the upper left hand corner out of the fram. Also perhaps one of the tools in LR might help to pull up the left hand corner. I agree with the comment made by Debbie to give the tree bark more texture and contrast. Great shot. Would lone to be there and enjoy the mint julep. Oregon is still overcast and cold. Susan |

nelson,
Although I do not do much in color in my IR work, this image really lends itself to color. Great image. As I am always doing boarder patrol. I suggest that you remove the small portion of branch at the upper left of the image. It does not appear to be part of the tree and is distracting. Susan |

Tatu,
I like that you have taken the scene from ordinary and given it an abstract quality. I might suggest that you brighten the snow. I also find that the two poles in the right side oof the image be removed as they distract from the clothes lines. Susan |

Debbie,
I love seeing trees done in IR. It brings out the character of the bark. I would agree with the comment re tring to darken down the light area behind the tree especially on the left. The light area does give the image contrast but if you need more contrast after darkening down the white, you might consider applying more contrast to the base of the tree. A vignette might also focus the viewers eyes towards the tree and not the background. |

Stuart,
I enjoyed seeing the image as a pano but think it would have more focus if it were cropped. My suggestion would be to take off th elast mountain area on the left. That area is darker than the rest of the image. I agree with the comments to see more foreground. Overall it is a good representation of IR photography. Susan |
