Thanks for your suggestions Trey. Yes, a slight crop at the top might help - it's just clear blue sky anyway, and I will try a slight brightening of the farmhouse. |

Thanks Ian. I always try different crops to get to what I thing works best. When taking this one I wanted the farmhouse directly below the highest mountain, then the crop is just to give the 'island' enough space to show it is almost completely surrounded by fog. |

Thanks Jay. Yes, I am going to try it in some PSA competitions in the Travel category. No cloning or compositing is allowed in Travel, so this one fits the category very nicely. |

Thanks Sanford. It was a little bit of magic - all the more so for being unexpected. |

Well done on getting a shot with a neatly arranged group of players. It would be very easy to have some half-in and half-out of the frame. It creates a tension by asking the question - is the ball going in, or will it bounce back out? I do think you have captured the moment very well, given the constraints in where you could shoot from - well done. |

Focus stacking with a wide aperture has allowed you to get everything in the main flower nice and sharp, whilst keeping the background out of focus. I can see you have boosted the contrast and colour of the flower to emphasise that sharpness, but I quite like the pastel shades of the original. Maybe you could sharpen up some of the the detail whilst keeping more of those delicate pastel shades? |

Henriette - your 'original' and final image are completely different images with a different set of buildings behind, but that makes me wonder if you could have created a wide panorama by stitching a couple of shots together to give us more of the skyline? I think I would reduce the highlights a bit as the water and trees are quite bright, and maybe darken down the sky with a graduated filter to really make those buildings pop - example attached. |

Lovely lighting on the girl's face. I am not sure what else you could do with the two customers other than tone them down as you have done. The object in the middle is a little unfortunate as it hides her hand, but overall I like the mood you have achieved with this image. |

You are lucky that the trees have not blown about in the wind with such a long exposure, but I wonder whether 6 minutes is really necessary, or would a shorter exposure have produced much the same image? Pleasant enough with the trees and reflection, but I do find myself looking for a focal point in the composition. |
