76 Aug 25 Reply Thanks Rusty. I also enjoy seascapes and in the UK we have plenty of coastline to go at. Aug 30th
76 Aug 25 Reply Thanks Ian. I find around 1-2 seconds works best for waves, but it depends on the volume of water. More volume = shorter exposures, otherwise it all becomes a white mush! Aug 30th
76 Aug 25 Reply Thanks Henriette. Aug 30th
76 Aug 25 Reply Thanks Jay, Aug 30th
76 Aug 25 Reply Thanks Trey. In looking at it again it could probably do with a bit more contrast to give it more ooomph! I might tweak it a bit more. Aug 30th
76 Aug 25 Comment Similar to Sanford's image, this is one for your own memories, so it is not really one for the rest of us to 'critique'. Hopefully it brings back fond memories for you, and that is what is important. Aug 30th
76 Aug 25 Comment Despite it being a grey day, you have managed to extract a colourful image from your original. I like the perspective, the symmetry of the image and the clouds give us a bit of texture in the background. Simple and effective. Aug 30th
76 Aug 25 Comment I would not complain about the arcing over the egret, and in the original you did the right thing to under-expose to avoid blowing out the highlights on the white bird. I realise you have 'spent' twenty years processing this one, but I do find it a little high key and there is a bit of a hazy glow around the bird. From the original I would simply bring up the shadows and reduce the highlights and that's about it. Unless you go for a very artistic approach, I usually find wildlife does not need too much editing. Aug 30th
76 Aug 25 Comment Sanford, so sorry to hear about your loss - he looks like a great friend and companion. This is a personal image for you, so no further comments are needed. Aug 30th
76 Aug 25 Comment With the two farms in the frame it definitely needs the panorama treatment as the light foreground trees in the original distract from your main interest. I like the extra contrast and saturation you have introduced, and the composition is nicely balanced. I just wonder why focus stacking was necessary at f25 - in the end, your image is all taken from the distance part of the shot? Aug 30th
76 Aug 25 Comment Ian, I think this is one of your best images. I know you were experimenting with panoramas and it has paid off here. Everything is spot on - well exposed with the highlights all controlled, nice movement in the car lights, and I like the blue-hour feel. I always think a dark blue sky is more interesting than pure black. So really well done and no 'improvement' suggestions from me (I know that makes a change!) Aug 30th
