Thanks Jay. Some day I might get a macro lens, but for now I have to get along with the extension tubes. |

Thanks Ian. I night have another look at the area behind the legs - it was a bit hard to soften the background without loosing the leg detail. |

Thanks Trey. FIAP/PSA rules for nature say "Adding a vignette or blurring the background during processing is not allowed." So that excludes this version of the image - I could of course try a less processed version, or even try this in an open competition. |

Thanks Sophie. You are correct that blurring is not allowed for competitions, so this one is just for me. Unfortunately I do not have a macro lens, but an extension tube is quite light, so it's easy to carry on the off chance of seeing a good subject. F8 was wide open with my lens at that focal length! |

Well your granddaughter looks like a proper dancer, and I think the diagonal presentation against black really works. You have left a bit of reflection under her hand and front foot, but her back foot is a bit hanging in space - could you leave a bit of reflection there as well just to provide a sense of grounding? A good one for the family album. (PS was it really F28, or F2.8?) |

A great image of the pair of brothers. It really does look like they are strutting around as the kings of the jungle. I would have got a bit closer, then a bit closer still - no, just kidding!! You are close enough to pick out lots of detail in the lions and your shallow depth of field works for this image, so well done. |

Now this I do like - absolutely stunning final image from the original capture. Cropping in hard on those two central horses and presenting them isolated from the background with a high key finish is just the right thing to do. Honestly, this is my favourite image I have see so far from you Sanford - really well done. |
