Hi Trey, to me that looks more natural, and I think a bit more space at the bottom also improves the image. Thanks for taking the time to try out some suggestions. |

Thanks Jay. I wanted the triangle of light to match the couple's triangular pose. |

Thanks Trey. I agree that red can give a strong focal point to an image, but I am personally not so keen on colour-popped images. Maybe I could go back to the original colour image and de-satururate everything except the red to come up with a a colour and mono version. |

Thanks Ian. I did have an idea of light coming down and 'exploding' around the dancers, but at these events there is not much time for planning - mostly it was rapid fire shooting for the 20 minutes I had with each model, then see what I could do with the images afterwards. |

Thank-you Sophie. On this occasion I think I'm happy with the mist on the floor - in fact I might add even more - each to their own opinion, but thanks for your comments. |

Thanks for the feedback Henriette. I might shade out the join a little more, but I think I will keep it visible. |

A bit of debate here about numbers of flowers and background elements. I don't mind the blurred stems in the background - it looks natural. However I would have preferred the bottom flower to be better isolated from the one behind - a snip of scissors would have done that (or is that forbidden in the Preserve!) A strong group of three flowers, but for me the image is a little over-saturated and I would take down the yellow-green saturation a little. |

A lovely pastel scene. I like that the tallest tree left of centre acts as a subtle focal point for the image. You have perfect reflections in the water and an interesting sky. One tiny distraction is the tall tree far left on the edge of the frame. It competes with the main tree for height and attention, but it could easily be cropped off. |

I guess the lion is yawning, but by zooming in and isolating its head makes it look like a roar. I did a similar image a few years ago (except my lion was in a zoo!), and separating the hair from the background is difficult, so well done on that. I agree with Henriette that the hair on the right looks cut off, but I can see it was like that in the original. You could try copying some hair from the left and blending it in if you think it would be a worthwhile improvement. |

I am slightly confused as to why you had to use 9 stacked images as there is nothing really close to the camera. I would have thought a narrower aperture would give enough depth of field, and if not, 2 or 3 images at most would do. That aside, I like the way the rocks frame the falls and cropping out the sky at the top avoids any bright distractions. We just need more water in the waterfall - not much you can do about that, but if you get the chance, go back after heavy rain and I think the scene would be transformed. |

This one should come with a warning - don't try this at home! An interesting action shot, captured at just the right moment when the acrobat is in mid air and clearly separated from the other performers. Is he flying up to the man on the gantry, or down to the man on the swing? Hopefully some-one will catch him! I like the framing between the gantry and the trees bottom right, so I would not change that. My only suggestion would be to tone down the brightness of the trousers of the man on the gantry as they are rather bright. But well done on getting the image you wanted. |

What a majestic mono image which I bet has been sitting neglected on your hard drive for years? The Canon 10D is 20 years old, but your re-processing shows there is merit in going back over old images to find a few 'lost gems'. I agree with Trey that a slight crop off the bottom might improve the balance and help 'lift our eyes' up towards the glacier, but otherwise your processing is spot on and I wouldn't change anything. Nice one! |
