This is a super shot, pin sharp, showing lots of muscular detail in the man, with gorgeous colours and capturing the moment - what's not to like? I think you were also lucky (or very well planned?) to have the two red lights framing the couple. The B&W version works well because the image has simple strong shapes, but my preference is the colour version, because it's a shame to loose all those lovely colours that really add to impact of the image. Very well done. |

My first thought is that the image is quite small, so unfortunately it's not easy to get a good look at it! From what I can see, I quite like the dappled light on the grass - it looks like there is some nice golden light there - so I don't see what the problem was. I also like the sun placement in the crook of the tree and the starburst effect. So no suggestions for improvement other than make it bigger so we can enjoy it more! |

I like the colours in your final image - a lot richer than than in the original, giving us a contrast between the strong red of the bridge against the deep blue sky. The composition with the river also leads us nicely through the image, so its a very good record of the historical bridge. I downloaded your image and had a go at removing the powerlines, and I agree it's not easy! It would require a lot of very detailed cloning to do a good job, and life's too short! In any case, as they are mixed with the trees they are not a distraction. My only suggestion is whether you could remove a little blue from the snow on the rocks - in the original the snow was white, so a bit of blue has crept in during processing, though that may be a personal choice? |

Well done on getting the cheetah in action - that's what people are looking for in nature shots! I agree with comments above that you could crop out the part of the other cheetah - we won't see what your cheetah is pouncing at, but I don't think that detracts from the story. Also I would follow up on Sophie's suggestion and lighten the head a little. I don't know if you do competitions, but I think this would do well in a Nature category. |

Very well done on creating an interesting image, almost out of 'nothing'. Most people would walk past the rig without a second glance, but you have seen the potential offered by the fog to create a simple graphic image. I like the symmetry, and tidying up the foreground was the right thing to do. Well seen and well done.
PS - Well done on being selected for the Show Case images. Another wonderful winter shot. |

Thanks Trey. Yes, this is one of the most popular views in Scotland, though there is another waterfall that is used even more frequently as a foreground. Thanks for the suggestion of adding a bit more to the sky. I've tried darkening it slightly and I think it is an improvement. |

Thanks Jay. There are already lots of postcards of this view, but I'm pleased to have my own version. |

A well taken night cityscape of the iconic Sydney Bridge. You have handled the exposure well and I like the sense of movement that the wide angle perspective gives, with the bridge rushing in from the left side. I'm not too bothered about the slightly converging verticals, but there is a bit of curvature on the far river bank which could be corrected - the Photoshop warp tool would do that. I would also suggest slightly darkening the reflections in the river to give the image a darker base. But well done - its always good to get a shot you've wanted for a while. |
