Good thoughts,Jerry. I enhanced the foreground to find a bit more detail, but not sure that really helped. |

Good idea, Frans! Wish I had thought of that, but will be more conscious of the slight blurring of the background in the future. Thanks. |

Thanks so much for your comments, Bradford. I was lucky with the sunset, because there are many days (most!) in NM when there are no clouds and little sunset. |

Thanks, Pierre! Great suggestion. The original photo looked more like a silhouette with a totally dark antenna and ground in front. I lightened up the ground to give it a little more depth, but I agree that there is too much ground there, and there could be less sky and still have the drama above. Great thoughts! |

Hi Frans, there is so much to like in your photo: the textures of the old wooden buildings, the bending road, the man's blue coat, the small spots of red color, the water reflections in the road, and the fog and mist in the air. It's a very attractive scene with the low buildings and higher mountains in the back, and it seems almost like a painting of an old traditional village. The only comment is that a little sharpening might be helpful. |

Very nice shot, Bradford! I love the way the boat is held in place with the ropees as leading lines, and framed by the reflections in the water. The colors are beautiful with the angle of the sun and shadows, and just a small piece of direct sun highlighting that section of the boat. The boat is just a bit off-center which adds to the interest in the picture, and the ripples in the water give it a subtle feeling of motion. Well done! |

Hi Geoff- this shot is really eye-popping! Love it! The couple of lines of blue/white waves really contrast beautifully against the subtle orange/yellow colors of the sky reflected in the beach sands. The setting sun behind the clouds on the left really draws your eye and the whole scene gives a feeling of motion and makes you want to watch as the sun sets further, the waves keep moving and the colors darken. This is real artistry! |

Hi Scott- Very nice b/w image which seems to bring out some of the details. I think it would help to lighten the big black area the the left of the lighthouse so more of the rocky details were visible there. I also think it would be more appealing if the lighthouse weren't in the dead center of the picture. And it would be helpful if you could give more information about the shot in your description. |

Nice shot, Pierre! The color, ice and distant steam coming up from the lake certainly give the strong feeling of frigid cold. Your ON1 software helped to sharpen it, give more definition and bring out the distant colors. I'm not quite sure where the focal point is, but it's a very expressive and attractive winter scene. |

This photo really touches me deeply, Jerry. I love the feeling of being deep in the forest with the sun trying to stream through and seeing the sun rays coming from behind the big tree. You've captured a lovely scene with a great center focus and leading lines pointing toward it. It seems just a little out of focus, which may be your intent in telling the story, but I would tend to sharpen it just a bit. |
