You're so perceptive to notice that Pierre- I just need to sharpen my perception to see that. I appreciate your suggestions for corrections- great ideas! Thanks so much.

Thanks, Jerry. Excellent observations and suggestions! I am usually pretty aware of keystoning in photos, but I missed it in this one because of the low building. But you were observant enough to notice, and I appreciate it. I'll definitely correct that before using the photo again elsewhere.

Hi Kathryn- How I wish I could have been with you to see these whales blowing- especially with that magnificent background. Love it! My only suggestion is based on the fact that there seems to be a little blue in the sky which could enhance the scene. I wonder if the blue and a little more detail in the clouds could be brought out with a little more contrast in that area. Otherwise, wonderful image. |

Geoff- love to see those layers of gorgeous color over the water and the reflection in the water. Very nice shot! |

Hi Scott, Glad to see your new image. The title helps because I can see that you are capturing a valley that is just getting it's first rays of sunlight, and the hillside directly below you is still in the dark. I'm not quite sure where to focus my attention in your picture- not sure what the focal point is for the story it's telling. It's nice the see the winding road and a couple of clusters of buildings, but not sure of what you were aiming to present with the picture. I like the colors and the general feeling of Fall, but I wonder if you might provide a little more focus on some point of the picture that might help to a story.
I tried a little experiment with your picture to crop it and narrow the focus to the small cluster of buildings in the center which still show the shadows and the incoming light from the sunrise. I took out the wires, added a little clarity and enhanced the color just a bit, and it seems like this might provide a little more focus to the picture. |

Hi Frans- This image is a delight to see! As you said, it has all the right elements with an interesting foreground, a reflective lake that narrows and points toward the trees in the back and and wonderful sky reflected in the water. What could be better. You did a great job of putting several pictures together to make them blend into a lovely focused image. Couldn't be better! |

Hi Pierre, this is one of the best pano shots you've sumbitted! The moon and reflection on the left are crystal clear, and their weight is balanced by the grouping of buildings on the right. The little lights appearing in severl of the buildings add some real interest and I especially like the twinkling star in the building on the left. No suggestions: it's a delight to view and explore.

Jerry, this picture makes a strong impact with the broken-down structure so prominently displayed, and mists and overcast sky making for a sense of gloom and doom. As Jennie said, there are a few confusing elements of the picture, but the position of the logs in front leading up to the wooden pile and the one on the side leaning toward the pile provide strong leading lines. Although the image is in color, the colors are very muted, and it gives the immpression of a b/w image with a focus on the structure and texture of the wood pile. (Do you know what is pile is: a building, tree, or what?) Regardless, I like it very much.
