Thanks so much, Scott. I felt fortunate that the horses were out there grazing when we drove by. It's always more special to me when I can get some animals in the picture to add more interest. |

Thanks, Frans. Yes, there are a lot of really unique sights and geological formations around Utah- a treat for a photographer. |

Thanks so much, Pierre. I agree that having a little more of the right and left sides might be better, but as you said, this is what was possible from the vantage point I had. I liked this angle of the butte rather than the side angle which is pictured more often. |

Hi Frans, Like Jerry the difference in sharpness between the near trees and the far ones was really noticeable. I first thought that this was due to the smoke between the hills which is dark at the top and lighter at the bottom. From Jerry's comments, it appears those clouds may be fog- but it's not obvious the reason for the clouds and why they may be obscuring both the clarity and color of the distant hill and trees. Also, the subject or object of the photo isn't really clear: is it the trees in front, or the clouds, or....? |

HI Geoff- You go to more interesting places! This is a powerful image with the glacier framed by the large stone outcroppings on either side and the blue sky beyond. No substantive suggestions, but I just wonder if it wouldn't be a more powerful image if there were only one or two people in the center rather than a whole group. I tried slimming the group down to 2 people to see what it would look like, and I like the result. What do you think? |

Hi Scott- Welcome abord! Nice to see your very attractive first image in the group! The colors and reflections are very eye-catching, and the diagonal orientation adds a lot of interest. I particularly like the way the bridge breaks up the river in the middle and adds additional interest with its reflection. Well done!!

Hi Jerry, Welcome on board! Very nice to see your first image: a very pleasing one, at that! I agree with Pierre's comments, and would add that adding a bit more contrast might be helpful. It's a little hard to distinguish the clouds from the hills in the back part of the picture, and I would probably add a little sharpening, as well. I do like the undulating lines of the water and the golden tone of the picture. |

Wonderful photo, Pierre! It has all the best elements: a sunset with beautiful fading colors, nice reflection the in water, a strategically placed streetlight leading to other distant lights, a great leading line in the sidewalk and railing: terrific! Makes you want to walk down that path to see the water and sunset. That's a real winner. |
