Hi Frans- I love the vertical framing of the shot, and the off-angles of the two buildings which add a lot of interest and make you explore the whole picture. Like Geoff, I would enjoy having a little more light at the top of the picture to get more definition of the top of the tall building on the left which is also quite dramatic. |

Almost seems like a surreal landscape. I love the contours of the land and the contrast with the surrounding water. thanks for pointing out the tiny tourists: I wouldn't have seen them without the guidance. This looks like it ought to be a calendar picture promoting this part of Victoria- which I would also like to visit. |

Hi Pierre, I understand the effort to show the environment for the migrating birds, but I agree with Geoff that the birds need to be a little more visible. I wonder about cropping the image down where it still shows the environment but puts a little more specific focus on the birds in the center island of the picture. I tried that with the attached image. I also added just a little contrast to try to highlight the island against the surrounding water. |

Thanks, Geoff. Great observation about the distraction of the bushes on the left. Removing them would make it stronger. |

Thanks so much, Pierre. Yes, it was a horizontal image which I cropped later. I really love scenes from the Southwest which include cacti, and it was nice to give this one a prominent place in the image. |
