Hi Franz- Really appreciate your astute observations and comments. About the shadow, I didn't realize that my shadow might be in the shot, but it very well could be. I don't think I know what you mean by "black clip". Could you elaborate a bit? |

Thanks, Geoff- I really love going back to the American Southwest because there are so many interesting geological forms there. You'll probably see more of them appearing on this discussion site as time goes on. Posted: 10/17/2024 10:37:32 |

Hi Pierre- Yes, the images were vertical. And yes, I was lucky with the sky since clouds are pretty rare during the dry season. Thanks so much for your comments. These natural rock formations are really fantastic to see- especially one like this that is in a remote area and not often photographed. |

Hi Frans- It's amazing what you have been able to do to this photo with editing software. You've been able to bring out details and colors that I would hardly believed possible from the original image. My only suggestion might be to crop out some of the darker and less interesting portions and focus on the really interesting and colorful terraces. I tried this with the attached photo. This is a fascinating image which will probably have a wide appeal. |

Hi Geoff-
That's a pretty dramatic shot: very flat terrain with only one notable feature, which really draws your eye across the picture. The vehicle on the highway helps to give it perspective and a bit of story. Very interesting. |

I like this a lot, Pierre. It's dark enough for the lights on the buildings to show up well, and you're far enough away that the moon seems large relative to the buildings. It's nice to see the details in the moon, and the reflections of the moon in the surrounding mist. It's a little surprising that the water doesn't show a reflection of the moon since the moon seems pretty bright and the water is relatively smooth. But regardless, it's a very attractive image! |

Tami- There's so much to like about this image: the path leading to the lake, the beautiful sky and reflection in the water, the framing of the sign by the trees, the warmth of the sunset. The picture just draws you in and makes you want to go down the path to the lake. No suggestions: great job!
