Those are great comments about focus stacking to sharpen the distant elements. I need to learn about focus stacking, something I've never done, but obviously should use occasionally. |

Hi Frans, Your revised image is certainly a great improvement over the original- a lot more color, detail and interest. It still strikes me as a bit dark, especially for a picture of a lot of snow, which usually brightens the image. I tried editing it just a bit to brighten the snow and the road leading to it, and it seems a little more appealing to me. |

I love the broken layers in the front of the image- really dramatic. I agree with Frans that the sky seems too bright and could have benefitted from being stopped down a bit. |

Nice shot! I wouldn't have known the darkness was due to a sandstorm without the explanation. Sometimes I've seen pictures of a city from a distance which show the sandstorm approaching and engulfing the city, but that's not obvious here. I wonder if there's some way to make the storm more obvious. At any rate, it's very interesting and ominous.

Hi Pierre, I love the feeling of this picture showing the city at dusk with the reflections in the water. I wish it were possible to have more of the colored sky behind the city on the left. I'm wondering if the picture needs to be as wide, or if cropping on the sides might help to focus it more. About the stones, I'm in favor of stones in the foreground, and wish there were a few more.

Hi Tami- that's a really eye-catching image with a lot of interesting things to see! I agree with Frans that it seems a bit bright, but I can image this image winding up on the walls of many people. Well done!
