70 Dec 23 Reply Thanks so much, Kathryn,
That was my thought originally, but after a couple of comments I started to rethink whether the sticks helped or hurt. And yes, there's a lot to see and photograph in that area.

70 Dec 23 Reply Hi Stefaan, I see your point and will darken the lower part of the image when I submit it to a competition. Thanks so much!

70 Dec 23 Comment Hi Geoff-
This is a picture that really tells a story! Hard to imagine anyone would try to cross this road with the water running across it. But you captured the picture and the story well, and I really like it.
About the sharpness- yes, it does appear a little "soft", but I wonder if you could sharpen it a bit in post? I often use Topaz Sharpen with good results. I tried it with your picture and it seems to help.

70 Dec 23 Reply No, Topaz is a family of photo editing software apps: Gigapixel of one of them. Here's a link to the Gigapixel app, and you can find all of the other Topaz apps through Topazlabs.com. https://www.topazlabs.com/gigapixel-ai

70 Dec 23 Comment Oh, I like this a lot, Frans! The landscape is fascinating- makes you want to keep looking around the picture to pick up the details- and the burst of color from the balloon is totally eye-catching. HOpe you're successful in the competition!

70 Dec 23 Comment Hi Kathryn, This is a picture I'd love to have on my wall. I love the scene, the meandering creek and the mountains in the distance- terrific! As Geoff said, a few clouds in the sky would be nice, but having taking a lot of pictures in the SW, I know there are many days without clouds. Well done!

70 Dec 23 Comment hi Pierre- Like Geoff, I'm really drawn to the picture both for the peaceful colors and for the path that make you want to walk down it. I'm wondering if it were just a bit sharper if it would be even more appealing.

70 Dec 23 Comment Hi Stefaan, I like the shot, but all the posts and lines were a bit confusing, and I had to study it a bit to understand what I was looking at. It seems to me that the main subject is the building on top of the bridge complemented by the clouds. Would you want to consider cropping the bottom a bit to reduce the number of posts and concentrate on the upper part of the picture?

70 Dec 23 Comment Hi Tami,
I love the night pictures with the lighted buildings and the moon, but like, Pierre, I thought the picture seemed a little "soft" and could use a bit of sharpening. I used Topaz Gigapixel to increase the size and sharpness, and I think that improved it a bit. What do you think?

70 Dec 23 Reply Thanks so much, Pierre. I appreciate the comments about the artifacts and lines: looks like I accomplished a couple of my goals for the pictures. Thanks also for your thoughts on the bush. It's always difficult to decide what to keep and what to leave for realism.

70 Dec 23 Reply Thanks, Geoff. I debated about whether I should remove the sticks there, but thought they added to context, so left them. I felt that the stronger colors in the arch drew the eye upwards, so the sticks wouldn't be a distraction, but since you point them out, it would be worth considering to eliminate them.
