70 Oct 23 Reply Thanks, Stefaan- Good comments. Yes, it should be sharper. It tried to sharpen it in post, but that didn't help as much as I had hoped.

70 Oct 23 Reply Thanks, Geoff. That makes sense. Sometimes I forget to change the F-stop if the picture looks good through the viewfinder. Thanks for the reminder.

70 Oct 23 Reply Thanks, Tami. I really didn't notice it either. I'm learning to be a bit more observant in this forum. Oct 24th
70 Oct 23 Comment Hi Frans- I really like this image! As you know, I generally prefer colored images, but you've shown here that b/w can be very dramatic, especially when combined with a shot of color- as with the kayakers. The color really helps to tell the story better with the b/w background of mounds in the water. I agree with you and Pierre that it really helped to eliminate the other boaters and focus on the one kayak. Halong Bay is one of my big bucket list goals- even despite the throng of tourists there. Thanks for sharing this image.

70 Oct 23 Comment Hi Geoff- This is really an impressive place- one I would also love to visit. But, as others mentioned, it's hard to find the right spot to get a good perspective for a picture. All the curving walls are just a bit disorienting, and the two visitors help anchor it. The light coming in through the two main openings seems a bit overexposed- but maybe necessary because the cave is so dark. I think you did a good job with some of the challenges the cave presented and you made the cave an interesting place to visit.

70 Oct 23 Comment Hi Stefaan- I agree with you- the clear reflections of the buildings in the water are very attractive and interesting. I like the angle of your shot with lines converging at the end which really draw your eye through the picture. I don't really have any suggestions. Great work!

70 Oct 23 Comment Hi Tami- I agree with Pierre's comments about the dramatic location, the interesting helicopter, and the distracting red ledge in the front. Interesting perspective for the shot: were you in an aircraft to take the picture, or just on a high point of land? I agree with others that this is a unique point of view of the Canyon, and it's very appealing.

70 Oct 23 Comment I love the effect of the big moon over the city! (You said it was a "blue" moon, but it looks red to me!) I generally like panos, but the scenery to the right of the moon isn't very interesting. I wonder about moving the moon to the left to be closer to the city and cropping off some of the less interesting lights on the right. Oct 17th
70 Oct 23 Reply Hi Frans- Yes, I can see the difference you made, and I really appreciate your suggestions. Could you tell me how you eliminated the haloing around the arch? That's something that I struggle with.

70 Oct 23 Comment Thanks so much, Pierre. Great insights and suggestions. I need to learn how to use focus stacking- not something I'm really familiar with. But I suspect that would make a big difference. Oct 10th
