70 May 23 Reply Thanks, Geoff. Cell phone pictures are better now than they were when I took this one, and it doesn't have the resolution I need to bring out the details. But I agree with you, your best camera is the one you have with you. It was such an extraordinary landscape, that I wish my other "real" camera hadn't locked up on me and I could have taken higher quality pictures. May 18th
70 May 23 Comment It's really a beautiful scene with leading lines pointing to the falls. It's nice to have the human element, but a bit confusing as to why they are there. It's hard to tell whether they are enjoying the moment and inviting you to join them in the enjoyment, or if there is conflict that distracts from the beauty of the surroundings. The scene obviously tells a story, but I'm not sure what the story is.

70 May 23 Comment hi Geoff- This is fascinating! I wouldn't have guessed a diamond mine would be so massive. It's nice to see the many levels and roads into the mine, but I wonder if there's a way to sharpen the image to reduce or see through the dust? Would Dehaze in Photoshop be helpful? Also, it might have been better if you could have taken a bit more of the area surrounding the mind to give it a bit more perspective- like you did on the top of the picture. But thanks for posting it- it's really interesting. May 17th
70 May 23 Comment Hi Terina- The human figures really make this picture dynamic and interesting! They are so perfectly placed as silhouettes in the light, and they show action and direction toward the end of the pier. The clouds and the colors of the sky and water are really appealing and dramatic. i agree with Pierre that the birds on the left tend to distract rather than add to the picture. Great job catching a special moment!

70 May 23 Comment Hi Pierre- i like the sunrise over the water: you've caught the feeling of the sunrise very well. My only comment is that the picture seems to need some point of focus- like a boat in the water or something to draw your eye. But I do enjoy the warm feeling that the picture gives.

70 May 23 Reply Thanks, Pierre- the mountain peaks look slanted because they are. I could see that in all my images, but that adds a little special quality to the landscape, I think. Hope you get to go there sometime, but be prepared for a long hike and a lot of stairs to get to the top.

70 May 23 Reply Thanks, Terina! It's hard to have a bad composition there, but I wished my camera had worked to give better resolution.
