Hi Terina, Just realized that I had not commented. Your image is so striking with the big rocks, the moving water, and the sunrise happening the background. It's a wonderful picture with a lot of elements I could spend time enjoying. This is not a criticism, but just wondering if the sunrise could have a little more color? I'm so used to seeing colorful sunrises over the water here that I would expect to see some tones orange and red coming through or around the clouds. But it's an excellent picture as is!! |

Thanks so much, Terina. I was really lucky with the clouds which formed just as we were heading home.

Thanks so much, Kathryn! I rely on Nik a lot, and almost had a heart attack the the company was sold to DxO, and then not supported for a while. Glad to know you also find it useful.

Thanks, Pierre, I tried to make the fishing shack larger in the final picture to draw more attention to it, but maybe that's not really necessary. Thanks for your thoughts! |

I can see why you'd say that about the cropping, Geoff. Thanks for the feedback.

Hi Frans- Love your picture! When I see the original, it's hard to imagine how you got these colors and details in the final. My first impression (before I saw the title) was that this was a group of glaciers, going by the blue color. I'm guessing that when you were there, the light conditions were such that these are the colors you saw, and you tried to bring them out in post-processing. However, it might be slightly more realistic if the mountain colors were just a little browner or earth-toned. Or on second thought, with all the clouds, I wonder if it might have even more impact if it were converted to B/W. I played with that an attached an example. |

Hi Kathryn- that is just gorgeous: perfect lighting, perfect detail, and a great combination of mountains, sky, water and trees! And the pano went together so perfectly! No suggestions for improvement. Makes me want to go there. I'll bet a lot of offices would love to have a picture like this on their wall. |

I always love pictures of the Taj, and this is no exception! You obviously had great weather, and a very interesting perspective with the arch making an excellent frame for the building. I know when you are there and want to use this arch for a frame, you don't have a lot of flexibility in your location, but if it were possible, it would be nice if the Taj could fill a little more of the frame- and also if it were a tad more to the left of the frame. I tried scaling up the building within the frame to see what it would look like, and i've attached my effort. Also, it would also be nice to see a little detail on this side of the frame just to give it a better sense of identification. Just some thoughts- but I really like the picture and wish I could have been with you there to take it!

I just love the beautiful colors of sunset, especially when they are reflected in the water like this. It's hard to imagine that you got such vivid colors from the frames you provided, but the HDR did turn out to be very natural and vibrant. It's also nice that the hills on either side provide an excellent framing. Those two buoys (?) just right of center provide a nice break and focal point for the picture. Really like this!

Hi Kathleen: Like you I love winding paths that move toward something- like mountains in the distance. This is a nice very distinct path on a lovely day, and I would suggest that the path be more made more prominent as the subject of the picture. Your picture gives most of the weight to the sky, but if you would crop down the sky and the sides of the picture to bring more focus to the path, it would be stronger. I tried to do that with your image, and it's attached.
Incidentally, is that Pierre's name on your picture?
