Thanks for a very interesting and well done photo, along with the accompanying commentary. Your images are sharp and the colors well presented. Because the cloudless blue sky is so dominating, Would a vertical rather than the horizontal perspective have worked better?

Brian:
Kudos to you for your persistence in capturing a very difficult shot so beautifully. I like your photo very much. Your post-processing provided a very appealing image.

Brian:
This is a beautiful landscape/waterscape image. You have really brought out the colors of the foliage, the rocks, the river, the far away mountains and the sky. (I didn't know Arkansas had mountains! )

Charles: Right time, right place. you certainly did capture the colors and light of a fading Autumn. The rower is clearly the subject and certainly positioned to draw my eyes into the photo. I find the houses on either side of the image a bit distracting; maybe they should be either darkened or blurred a bit. A beautiful image.

I can understand your feelings in this very special place. You have captured the Autumn colors and the solemnity of the place beautifully.
I find the roadway a bit distracting, as it doesn't lead my eyes anywhere; perhaps you might have shot with the camera lower to the ground to minimize the road.
