Thank you for your comments, my friend. Hillstead has been one of my favorite sites to shoot in all seasons and all kinds of weather. I should have used a wider lens, but I wanted to make the red barn more prominent. I'll be back there again soon for Dogwood season. |

I agree that the red barn should have been more prominent, but the only way I could have done so would require me shoot from a higher perspective. Unfortunately, I was at the highest elevation available.
Thanks for your comments.

Brian:
Stunning image, beautiful in its simplicity. The sky, the tree and the grassy plain are in perfect balance and your colors are rich. You were certainly in the right place at the richt time.

Trey: Your images of Wisconsin in Autumn have once again treated all of us with their timeless beauty. Your pastures and corn fields draw us into the classic red barn against a backdrop of Fall foliage, all softened by a low-lying morning mist.
A question to you: You use Topaz on many of your works; do you use it early in your processing or as a final touch?

You have taken a well-known scene and made it more beautiful for all of us. Your image has balanced the foliage with the monument against a background of a clear blue sky, blue water and the city's skyline ---- all in proper proportion.

Beautiful work, Charles. This iconic aqueduct has been much photographed, but usually from dry land. By getting your feet wet you have captured a whole new perspective. Your choice of an early-morning sky enhances your subject. Don't change a thing --- I suggest you print it, frame it, and hang it in a prominent location.

Welcome Brian. I like your image; you turned a difficult situation into a nice photo, with the added bonus of the bird as your subject. You have conveyed the depth of your scene nicely. My only suggestion might be to blur your background even more, so as to make your subject and foreground more prominent.
