Trey: I can't understand how your description got into my submission. Your description was definitely in the right place when I posted my comments to your photo.
Thank you for your helpful comments.

Sanat: Thank you for sharing the location of your photograph, which is stunning. The blue of the sky against the mountains is beautiful. I found the people and vehicles on the right side of the image to be a distraction, although they do lend a sense of scale. I would agree with Brian that the lake needs a little more room on the left.

Brian: A beautiful capture. Your colors are well defined but not overpowering, and your sky treatment is a nice improvement on the original capture. One question: how do you KNOW there's no crocs in this watering hole?

Trey: You were in the right place at the right time. On. a sunny day the foliage colors might have been overpowering; as it is, your image is nicely balanced. I might suggest a little less compression in the foreground, as the nearest stretch of road appears unusually steep.

Your image takes us into the scene immediately as the road and the fence draw the eye in from front to back. Your choice of a replacement sky, deep grey and stormy was the best possible choice as it serves to bring out the colors of the rest of the photo. At first I wanted you to try cropping the left side, taking out the first section of the fence and the barn in the distance, but they are integral to the overall scene.

Charles: I really like your image. You have brought out the colors of Autumn without overdoing it; your colors are truly authentic. Your cropping is truly creative in that you have minimized the the appearance of sky, so the eye isn't distracted. I wouldn't suggest any changes to try.
