Thank you for your comments, especially re. Pixel counts, which I never really understood. In order to bring a photo's pixels down to the point where the system will accept it, I have to get down close to 1.2 MP. Does this substantial reduction in pixel count take away from the clarity and sharpness of the original image? I would appreciate your reply.

Brian:
This is a gorgeous, impactful image. Your cruise ship had you at the right place, right time. If you hadn't photographed the sky when you did, your photo would have lost some of its "WOW" factor. It's not often that we photographers come upon such scenes.

Trey, the relics of bygone eras and ways of life bespeak a loss that can never be reclaimed, except by mother nature. The fog of Autumn only adds to the somber mood. It's a beautiful image. I found the background a bit too bright, maybe could be a little more grey.
Could you share the camera/lens combination you used? I'm still learning.

You picked a difficult spot for your beautiful Autumn photo. Waterfalls are never easy (I speak from experience with many cuts and bruises and very few acceptable shots) and I'm sure you had to do some climbing to get to your chosen spot. I like your perspective to the side of the falls, but could you have moved to your right a few paces for a more face-on view? |

Thank you, as always, for the historical background accompanying your image. Your subjects - the nets and the fishermen and their surroundings - take the viewer back in time, while, in the background, there appears more modern activity. You did a nice job with the sky and the entire photo competition is beautifully balanced.

This is a beautiful photo of a very serene scene. While all parts of your photo are in good focus, there is a softness and just a hint of Autumn to the overall image that make one want to linger there. If I were to make one suggestion it would be to tone down the brightness of the upper part of the background mountains. Congratulations.
