Thanks, Trey. I'll give the crop suggestions another look.

Jacky:
You are correct. As I mentioned, the tide allowed only a mid-day shot from my preferred shooting location. However, I mis-labeled the title of the photo. Thanks for your sharp eyes and your comments.

Trey:
Glad you "hit the brakes". This is a beautiful photo; it almost looks like an oil painting. While some might say that it lacks a subject, I see the entire scene as the subject. Did you expose for the sky for any particular reason?

I admire your courage in hiking in such uncomfortable heat to get this picture. It was worth the effort. You have captured and highlighted the beautiful colors of the rocks, the trees and the surrounding desert in fine detail. I'm glad you brought in the sky from ACR, as it complements the colors of the rocks.
What camera/lens did you use?

Charles:
Having unsuccessfully tried to photograph in the forest fire smog from Canada, I can really relate to this photo. It tells a story in a very compelling yet simple way by focussing on the fishermen in an other-worldly early morning light. I might have cropped it in a little from the right and cloned out what appear to be power poles in the gap in the trees.

Jacky: Your words evoke your image and your image evokes your words. I really like this image. The tree by itself might appear stark but its surrounding make it appear stately and serene. I'm glad you shot it as portrait rather than landscape, and that you kept your primary subject and its reflection off center.
