Thank you for your comments. I now see this fence as a distraction. I plan to re-visit the site (if the hillside isn't covered by condos by now) and re-take the photo.
re. the image size, I don't know how that happened. My Olympus is now the Pen-F, and I love it. I will be more careful when submitting to the group in the future.

GTrey:
My intent in the original was to include the fence, probably because it was there.
Last night I Photoshopped the fence out of the image, cropped a little off the right side and dressed up the sky: big improvement!!
I have used fences in other photos, usually old weathered split rail fences, and they enhanced the image; this one did not. Thanks for your guidance.

Thank you, Trey. I didn't think of the fence as a distraction, but you are the second one in the group to make that point. I'll see what I can do to make it go away.

Trey:
Thank you for sharing your techniques in creating this beautiful rural image. Your photo presents a depth-of-field that, at first view, appears to be 3-dimensional. Your treatment of the fog and the snowy field in the foreground let the viewer feel the dampness and cold of late Winter. The only suggestion I can offer is "don't change a thing".

Your image truly captures the essence of your death-row subject: a living hell. Bringing up the blue in the overhead skylight doesn't evoke hope, but rather a reminder of what has been lost or left behind. It's Dante's "Abandon hope, all ye who enter here".
I might suggest you bring up your exposure ever so slightly.

Jacky:
Choosing a panorama format rather than standard photo dimensions was a good choice. Your subject really demands a panorama. You have captured the simplicity of the scene in a very compelling way. I like it a lot. Your composition is well balanced. Don't know if a few clouds added to your sky might enhance your image or detract from its simplicity, but you might give it a try.

Quang Phan, this is a truly striking image and beautiful presentation of the Washington Monument. Your light-painting emanating from the lower right side of your pulls the eyes into the subject and emphasizes the primary colors of blue and yellow. I'm not bothered by the noise level, as a higher ISO is inevitable given the low light.
