Very interesting, Rich. I see a change from your original shot that makes the storm menacing, and your whole scene more vibrant. Did you try a conversion to B&W then working in that medium to add the drama? |

You picked a great spot in which to photograph a sunset. I like your subject and your composition. I recognize what you have done with your color correcting and the enhancement of the yellows in the sky. While the yellow might seem overpowering, it turns a good sunset photo into something uniquely different. |

I like this a lot, Trey. You've taken a fine photo of a natural forest scene, portraying how the light touches all of the various elements of the scene in different ways. Your post processing adds an air of mystery, as if inviting the viewer to pause there a while. |

Charles: This is a very compelling image and conveys a strong sense of place. The stark reality of the penitentiary, its vastness, its peeling paint hints at the misery and despair of those who once resided there. Your perspective draws me in to the place where the forbidding concrete walls converge into the skylight. Perfect for B&W rendering. |

Thanks, Rich. You are so right about the blown-out area of the sky. I worked at that to the best of my ability, but I knew that the position of the sun relative to how I wanted to setup my subject was going to be a problem.

Thank you, Charles. Coastal Maine keeps drawing us back year after year, but Covid 19 has kept us away in recent years. I'm new to PSA & this group, and still have lots to learn.
