John-Your experiment with Palette Knife filter seems to me is over done loosing some details.Otherwise, colors are strong and pleasant. I haven't used this filter yet but it was a god try anyway.

David-I like your shot overall with morning light falling on Barns but I would crop from bottom until yellow ground patch
disappear and burn the sky the best you can or crop the sky and show the trees in the background and remove yellow color a bit from the image in PS.

Priscilla- I do go along with Jesse's comments. There is a lot of room for cropping.You need a tight cropping from all over to bring central point of interest. I always use 2 L shape gadget for cropping and composition which makes a great difference. Try it-you will like it!

Allen-Your white orchid has turned into brownish tone rather than white!I wonder what made into brownish tone? Otherwise, your technique using soft box for defusing light is perfect giving you every detail of orchid.Allen-was your background black already?
