Jesse-Here is the way I did to improve your image:
1. Make Dupe Layer.(Ctrl+J)
2. Pick Layer Mode and click on soft light.
3. Make new blank layer and fill with white color and bring opacity to 20% to show the fog effect.
4. Merge all the Layers.(Ctrl + E)
This is the result I was looking for. I hope my statement makes it easy for your.

David- I like your bird pretty sharp and focused but I would make tight cropping from left,top and little from right side to minimize distraction around or you could make the whole background blurred reducing the distraction around.Good luck David!

Priscilla-You did a good job in converting into B&W but reflections in the eye glasses is distraction to me. I would also crop from the top a little bit. I think you have a room to do that.Otherwise your settler's image is perfect
in B&W tone.

Allen-This brand is new to me and the word as well and also never work in lightroom. So I am unable to give you my true comments. The only comments I can give is the two white lines in the middle is the distraction to me!

Debbie-You produced a beautiful image which is not that easy in this kind of windy situation.I agree with your comments you gave to David. It's sharp enough and you gave a very interesting touch of coloring Gordon's eyes. I spotted white spec to the right eye of his right side! Well done Debbie.

Jesse-I almost agree with the comments of Priscilla but I would further tone down the whole image a bit to give a snap without loosing fogy atmosphere. I will show you when I get back in Photoshop.

John-You did a great job and I like the way you treated this image changing the color of the barn and giving a life to the sky and removing small bale near the barn and leaving other 3 bales in good position. I found this kind of image in Canada last year.I will bring it in later to my group.
