Very nice. Now I am wrestling with the ratios...1 to 1 or what you have done. Thank you for the feedback. |

Very helpful. I have long wondered how to do that. |

Great photo. I love the greens, the white of the moth, the subtle markings on the moth. Also, the serrated edges of the leaves add a lot of interest. |

Great photo. Both you and Brian talked about giving your photos a "vignette." Can you say more about that? Both as process and as to intent. I played with the photo a bit, thinking to make it more impressionistic by reducing clarity. Not sure but here you go. Oh...and another question, what is the ratio of this photo?

I think I like it in color because of the red line from the sun. But I can certainly try some of these suggestions. Thank you. |

I like that crop very much. What do you mean by adding a gray stroke? |

Great photograph! I agree with Brian that the conversion to black and white was a good choice. It is much more compelling as a b & w. Perhaps the graininess in the sky could be changed by using denoise in Lightroom? I suspect the digital artifacts on the cable come from selecting sky as a mask? Is that right? I am not sure the best way to work on that and would welcome ideas. I have had that issue. Regardless, this is a very compelling image . I shoot with a Sony A7iii, btw. |

I am impressed by folks who know how to add sky and do other such dramatic changes to an original. Can you say more about that process? A focal point for me in the photo is the second to front car, which has come bluegreen which contrasts with the oranges in the rest of the image. |

Thank you Brian. My perennial problem - holding the camera straight. And I still miss level even though I have a gyroscope on the display. I think I agree that the darker version is better. Here's a straightened version. Oh...and I was glad to have my English daughter-in-law handle the driving!

Thank you for the comments. I did take some photos in landscape but had not thought about cropping this one that way. I live in Richmond, Va USA...so...visiting that beach again will have to go on my wish list. |
