I should add that though folks talk alot about Man Ray in relation to solarization -and he used it to good effect- it was actually discovered by Lee Miller who was working with Man Ray. She was an amazing photographer in her own right. This article does a good job telling about her. I have one of her books, which is amazing. https://www.artnews.com/feature/lee-miller-photography-vogue-man-ray-1234587240/ |

I should also say that I really like the composition of this photo. There is, to my eye, a great diagonal, from guy top left (the guy's head), to the bat, then down to the ball itself. Very satisfying. |

That is a good solution, I think, to bring the flower out. |

Wow! Great capture. How did you figure out the best length for the exposure? |

Good photo. Stieglitz did a whole series of cloud photos - https://archive.artic.edu/stieglitz/equivalents/
I do like the changes that Brian made. I think those changes bring out the composition.

I am so glad you like it! Here's a good article on "solarization." https://www.all-about-photo.com/photo-articles/photo-article/823/how-to-create-a-solarization-effect-using-lightroom-or-photoshop
And a photo of my tone curve in lightroom.

Beautiful. I like the changes you made. Is it possible to select the flower and increase the exposure there just a bit. |

Unfortunately, I created some anomalies about the edges of the players. So…not worth it. |

I have some English friends and their excitement about the game is contagious. They have a BBC license so they can watch from the US. Another wonderful sports photo! I wonder about blurring the background just a bit. I will try that and share it. |

Great photograph. I especially like the clarity on the nose. And the whole face and shoulders are in good focus which I like, especially against the soft focus background. I might like to see the original, before you brightened the background, just for comparison. |

I love this…the textures and of course, the primary colors. |
