Julie -- I also think a little more contrast would be a good thing here. The ragged edge - the frills - are interesting but not easy to see so perhaps a tiny bit of contrast would beef them up a bit. I think more contrast would also give the tulip more presence overall. This is an interesting excercise and a delightful spring subject. |

Mark -- What a beautiful scene! To me, the bridge and its reflection are the whole story and I would suggest a much tighter crop to eliminate most of the trees. The elegant architecture of the bridge and the mirror-like reflection create a fairytale setting that is very well conveyed by your image. Lovely! |

Robin -- The first thing I thought of was a renaissance painting. The interplay between the two faces is intriguing. I like the tight crop very much because it makes the narrative very specifically about the two protagonists. The lighting on the woman's face is nice, and I like the strands of hair making a slightly messy, natural look. It's interesting that the second face is out of focus, but I wonder how the energy would change if both were sharp. Just a thought. |

Peter -- I guess one might see anything on the streets of London! The situation is worthy of a photograph, but I have issues with the sign which demands most of our attention. The incongruity of the animal masks on a city street is surprising and fun. I understand wanting to retain the tourists on the bus since it is they who are being waved at, but the composition is awkward because of it. Making the "animal people" the only subject would allow for a tighter, cleaner composition. Nevertheless, this is a great example of why one should always carry a camera because you just never know what you might see! |

Barbara -- I always enjoy your studies and this is another fine example. This elegant cruet likely comes from another era and your lighting choice works well to enhance the deeply cut "old world" decoration. I also think the stopper and the curving spout are very pleasing. Nice image. |
