Group Round C/R Comment Date Image
99 Oct 25 Comment Hi Jared--Welcome to the group! The ambiguity of the object contributes to the interest, in my opinion. It does indeed seem to be bowed in grief. This location must be a very moving place to visit and the image suggests the terrible events of that day while still leaving unanswered questions. I like mysterious images that do not reveal everything. Thanks for showing us this.

99 Oct 25 Comment Mark--As someone who has attempted a few (mostly unsuccessful) waterlilly shots in my time, I have to congratulate you on a beautiful image. The monochrome works really well, I think. The lovely flower supported by the interesting lillypads creates a feast of shapes and textures. The detail of the serrated edges of the lillypads is excellent. Oct 19th
99 Oct 25 Comment Robin--The fact that Tulsi and the trees all convey verticality really works for me. The combination of her profile, the hand, and the bare foot is nice. I love that she is not touching the ground. Even her shirt shows movement which is an interesting element. Oct 19th
99 Oct 25 Comment Peter--This made me smile. The girl in leopard shorts, absorbed in her book, and the bear whose posture suggests contemplation begin the story. But the star for me is the lady who's face looks like she's known hardship. She seems unaware of the girl and the bear; in her own world. I love the teacups on the top shelf; I'm glad you included them. A wonderful narrative. Oct 19th
99 Oct 25 Comment Maude--The man really seems to be "of" this environment. His face speaks volumes about the hard, lonely life of a lighthouse keeper. The hands are a major element for me; they suggest the struggle of life in the old days when men had to be tough to get the job done. There are just enough details with the lantern and chart on the wall to tell the story of the location. This is a wonderful portrait and monochrome is the certainly right choice. Oct 19th
99 Oct 25 Comment Barbara--The contrasting light and colors of the petals really make this image work for me. I love the overall shape of the flower; it's "lively". Very nice image. Oct 19th
99 Oct 25 Reply Thanks, Mark. I think you have a good point about the foreground vs the bridge. It was pretty much an experiment. Oct 19th
99 Oct 25 Reply Thanks, Peter. The notice board is an issue, I guess, although I scarcely noticed it at the time. Oct 19th
99 Oct 25 Reply Thanks, Robin. The composition was challenging. Thanks for your suggestion.
