Mark--A sort of startling image -- and that's good, in my opinion. The picture is all about those eyebrows and eyes. Monochrome is the best choice obviously. I like the contrast between the white jacket and the dark skin and hair. I like the details in the jacket and the necklaces. He even has a small strip on his nose which adds a somewhat puzzling detail. A very interesting portrait which I enjoyed. |

Robin--The folks who participate in civil war re-enactments here in the US are very passionate about their hobby; I'm sure these people are as well. It's a big commitment of time and money but the camaraderie and sense of living history seems to make it all worthwhile. I think it's wonderful that people enthusiastically keep history alive. Thanks for showing us this interesting subject! |

Peter--I love this image: the contrast between the two riders and their "steeds" is wonderful. The second figure hiding behind the man on the right is interesting; do they commute together every day? The even light creates a very nice feeling of immediacy; I feel like they are right in front of me. Splendid. |

Barbara--Another of the elegant studies you do so well. I love glass for its beauty and also the way it makes light behave. I'm glad there is a slight pattern at the bottom because it appears to capture lots of light and hold it there. Lovely image. |
