58 Jul 25 Comment Isaac--A lovely moment captured in a lovely setting. Spring flowers and young love: a classic theme that never grows old. Very nice. Jul 25th
58 Jul 25 Comment Bruce--The body language and expressions are wonderful. I would crop out a lot of the sky/wires. I love their foreshortened hands reaching out to the viewer. I'm with Bev: more of this kind of energy is needed in the world. Jul 25th
58 Jul 25 Comment Bev--I think the low POV creates a more dynamic composition with the beautiful sky providing context. I like Isaac's straightened version. Her scarf (veil?) suggests butterfly wings, which is a nice detail. The drum under her left arm is a bit if a problem for me, but overall this is an enjoyable image of an intriguing subject. Jul 25th
58 Jul 25 Comment Pinaki--I like that we are looking at the nuns' evocative clothing instead of their faces. After all, they are devoted to their faith and not likely to seek recognition. I wonder who is the gentleman depicted in the artwork? He seems a very interesting character. A lovely image, Pinaki. Nice work. Jul 25th
58 Jul 25 Comment Thanks, Bruce. I like the reflection, too. Jul 24th

99 Jul 25 Comment Jurgen--I can see why you wanted to have the upper right corner end in a point; it obviously would be compositionally advantageous. However, I do not see failure when I look at this image. The graceful lines of the sail speak eloquently of wind and sunlight and speed. The clean minimalist appearance is calm and inviting. You have shown us a lovely image. Jul 26th
99 Jul 25 Comment Mark--I was surprised to learn this building is in New Jersey! The architectual details and the "chorus line" of figures are photographic catnip. I agree with Mark that perhaps including the feet of the first two statues would stregthen the composition somewhat. This is a really exciting subject and a very enjoyable image to my eye. Jul 26th
99 Jul 25 Comment Robin--I have intentionally used slow shutter speeds to get blur, but I've never attempted ICM. You've piqued my interest! I agree with your opinion about sharpness, which seems over-emphasized to me. The trees are an interesting choice for this technique since they can be "stretched" and still look like trees. The atmosphere is moody and evocative and the blur seems appropriate. I'm not so sure about the mist. It looks like an afterthought, though I understand why you felt something was needed. The ghostly foliage on the left sorta bothers me.

99 Jul 25 Comment Peter--I think this is a cracking good image. I love the fact that he is looking right at the camera and engaging with us, the viewers. He has a wonderful face with furrowed brows. The reflection is very interesting because it seems to provide us with a second "copy" of the guy, which seems similar but not identical. The graphic on his shirt contributes a dynamic detail, and, as Robin noted, he has extra "ears". I really enjoyed looking at this. Congratulations!

99 Jul 25 Comment Maude--I'm not familiar with this building but I don't find it boring at all and I can see why you choose to return to it. I like the regularity and strong graphic appearance with the triangles and diamonds and the shapes of the windows. Presumably the whole building is clad in aluminum since it's Alcoa and that must be beautiful. I think skyscrapers in general are hard to photograph effectively, so don't be too hard on yourself. Your decision to add some "actors" to the scene is interesting. The man leaning out of the window is unexpected since I doubt those windows open. A good joke! Jul 26th
99 Jul 25 Comment Barbara--I always find "stopped" water to be an interesting subject and this is superb. The glass itself is beautiful and the water is wonderful. I love the series of droplets suspended in the air and the bubble. You must have made several shots to end up with this nice arrangement. Jul 26th
99 Jul 25 Reply Thanks, Peter. This was a little bit of an Independance Day joke. Jul 24th
99 Jul 25 Reply Thank you so much, Barbara. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Jul 24th
