58 Jun 25 Comment Ed--Those are some rocks! I also think the color version tells the story a little better. It does look like hard, dangerous work -- no safety gear! This image tells me the Andes must be a formidable environment, and the people of the region are probably pretty tough. Neat story. Jun 22nd
58 Jun 25 Comment Bruce--Interesting about the dog. The lively animation of the two men is everything. They are enjoying their interaction and living la dolce vita. I agree with your cropping choice. Jun 22nd
58 Jun 25 Comment Pinaki--I find the warm golden color of this image very appealing. I like the fact we can see well into the restaurant. The figures, especially the main figure who seems to be window-shopping, tells the story. This is a lovely street image. Jun 22nd
58 Jun 25 Comment Bev--The first thing I see is the hats. The bench is a nice element. The two individuals seem isolated from each other even though they are sitting next to each other. As others have said: it shows modern life and the dominance of technology. Jun 22nd
58 Jun 25 Comment Isaac--This is a busy scene. I tried a different crop which I have attempted to attach but I'm not sure I did it right. I came in much closer to the marimba and the rasta guy. I love the shadows on the foreground. I hope my attachment worked; it would be nice to be able to do this. IT WORKED! Jun 22nd
58 Jun 25 Reply Thanks, Pinaki. I appreciate your mention of the textures which is what makes this work for me. Thanks for liking the car; I like the car, too, although the car-less ideas are interesting. Jun 22nd
58 Jun 25 Reply Thanks, Ed. There are things I like about the color image as well. For me, it's really about those crazy, impractical shoes. Jun 22nd
58 Jun 25 Reply Thanks for the interesting ideas, Bruce. I like what you've done. Jun 22nd
58 Jun 25 Reply Thanks, Bev. I appreciate your feedback. Jun 22nd
58 Jun 25 Comment Thank you, Isaac. I see your point about the size and dominance of the car. I like your version; it is simpler and cleaner-looking. Very interesting feedback. Jun 8th

99 Jun 25 Comment Jurgen--At first I saw the figure as facing toward the viewer, but then I realized she's actually walking away which provides a completely different narrative. The pair of prominent photographs are like windows into other worlds. I'm sad to think these interesting places are "lost". I love all the lines. I think the figure is a very important element and I find I want to see more detail; the hand is the only information. The layers of the image are interesting. Jun 21st
99 Jun 25 Comment Robin--Her hair is terrifying. Her eyes are certainly interesting, and being able to see the bird's eyes as well is good. I have to be honest though and say I think cropping out the upraised hair and focusing just on her face and eyes would work better for me. Just a thought. Jun 21st
99 Jun 25 Comment Peter--I love dance and these two dancers look wonderful to me. I love the shapes their arms make. I'm glad he is lifted up on his toes. Even her ponytail provides a little additional interest to her back and arm. I like the hats; I like the cane. I want to see them start dancing. Nice job. Jun 21st
99 Jun 25 Comment Maude--For a west coast person, as I am, locations like Ellis Island are fabled American historical sites that seem like a holy grail photographically. I can easily imagine this room filled with immigrants, doctors and nurses, and officials. This is a rich and timely image to remind us that we are a nation of immigrants. Peter mentioned the sky in the upper part of the windows and I also am somewhat puzzled by it, but I like to be puzzled. I have to admit the Statue of Liberty doesn't read that well for me. I think perhaps it is because I am not accustomed to seeing it from this angle. Another beautiful image, Maude! Jun 21st
99 Jun 25 Comment Barbara--The reflections create a surreal element that makes the image somewhat mysterious. What is this huge complex of buildings? It suggests a prison to me (I'm sure it's not; I'm just fantasizing). The achitectural element in the sky is puzzeling (in a good way) and leaves one wondering, what's going on here? Cool image. 99 Jun 25 Reply Thanks, Peter. I like the waves against his legs, too. Thanks for noticing it. Jun 21st
99 Jun 25 Reply Thanks, Barbara. Jun 21st
99 Jun 25 Comment Maude--Thank you so much. I appreciate the mention of the man's attitude and gear; that's what makes it work, in my opinion. So glad you enjoyed it! Jun 8th
