Ed--I like that the curve of the path is echoed by the line of rocks. The white bag in his hand is interesting. At first I thought I wanted the light area in the upper right corner to be eliminated but decided it helps balance the composition and sort of suggests his "destination". Nice image. |

Pinaki--This is an intriguing image. The statue has a pensive expression and seems to be looking back at us. Why is she on the balcony? The statue and balcony are both beautiful; perhaps the occupant simply liked the aesthetics. |

Bev--I love a sports action shot and baseball is a wonderful subject. The dynamic attitudes of the catcher and hitter are nice. I will have to agree with Isaac about the ball and the eyes, but sometimes you just have to work with what you've got. |

Isaac--This image tells a good story about a grand building with flags, a line of patient people, and one lady on the lower right who seems to be abandoning the effort and deciding to walk away. The building facade provides a wonderful backdrop for this scene. |

Thanks, Bruce. I guess I'm surprised the "decapitation" is such an issue as everyone has mentioned it. For me, the main element is the guy who has the hacky-sack because of his attitude, his bald head, and the sunglasses. The rest of the group are each ready to claim the hacky-sack when they get the chance, but they are not the main interest and are sort of "furniture", if you will. The original image was not "composed" but spontaneously shot on the fly as I was walking by; I did not intentionally cut off their heads but decided later when I saw the image that I liked the way it looked. |

Mark--It was nice of that bird to pose for you. The tree, the sky, the path, all combine to make a beautiful scene and the bird gives it life. Absolutely lovely; I wouldn't change a thing.

Robin--Great idea! I find myself wanting more information on the left side; a bit more hand to convey that she's holding the bouquet, perhaps. The circlet of flowers on her (messy) hair and the large fLower on the back of her dress speak volumes about her role as bridesmaid. The soft figures in the background finish the tale. Lovely image. |

Peter--I'm glad you decided to revisit this image of these two photogenic women. The close crop works really well to keep the viewer involved with the two ladies enjoying their drinks and having a bit of gossip. The patterns on the dress and tablecloth are nice additions. This is a lovely slice-of-life image. |

Maude--The repeating chair backs are very effective, especially since they are not in regular lines like such things usually are. I guess these are not attached to the floor like in a theatre but just loosely arranged. The chairs have a presence, like a group of entities waiting for something. The inclusion of the figure interupts the chairs' regularity and provides a narrative. I really like the overall low-key vibe. Cool image. |

Barbara--Thank you for introducing me to Thomas Vanoost with whom I was not familiar. ICM -- who knew? You've produced an interesting image that really seems to convey the activity of a busy intersection. I love the look of repeated layers, especially the trees and wires. Thanks for sharing your thought-provoking experiment; perhaps I will try this! |
