Bruce--Thank you! I have not ventured into the realm of AI (and at this point, don't want to) but your version of the image is interesting. I resist the idea of software making decisions about the appearance of an image. I shoot RAW files in manual mode because I want total control. Perhaps time will change my attitude about this (but I doubt it). |

Bev--Thanks! I've made several versions including "straight" color. Thought I'd show this one just for the heck of it. |

Ed--I find the young volunteers interesting and wish they were featured more. I would be tempted to crop it radically close to the five figures, eliminating the green building, some of the dark trees which are sort of swollowing the two youngsters, and some of the busy foreground. Just a thought. |

Bruce--The sign suggests someone might try to park there, but where? It doesn't really look like a parking area. I like her attitude and the expression of Japanese humor. |

Pinaki--Bev's version with the pole removed works better for me. The musician is a very interesting subject and maybe a slightly tighter crop would feature his face and hands more. The colorful clothing adds a lot of interest. |

Bev--That's a great story behind this beautiful photograph. Portraits are a personal favorite of mine and this is very appealing. The interesting variation of faces and ages and the brilliant smiles are a great combination. I like the background as is; it reminds me of a renaissance painting. |

Isaac--I like a lot of things about this image. We see the scene through a sheet of rain which really tells the story. The woman's attitude and her face partially visible beneath the beautiful yellow umbrella is lovely. The guy in the plastic raincoat reinforces the idea of a downpour. I like the architectual elements a lot, not just for the interesting framing but the wonderful colors and textures. Bravo! |

Thanks, Isaac. The washed-out colors are intentional. I also tried a monochrome version but decided to use the "light color" version because I like it. Unfortunately the is no version with the feet intact. |

Peter--Of course! Actually, once I started working on the image the echo of the tire and hose was obvious but not before. The guy in the back is looking at a big arch of water from another hose nearby. Thanks for the great feedback. |

Robin--Yes, I like my warmer tones. That's my preference and I'm sticking to it! But seriously, your "backstory" is funny. I would go to the mat over whether a reportage shot (I question whether this is strictly reportage) needs to be one thing or the other. I appreciate your feedback, Robin.

Robin--The first thing I see is the rather harsh eye makeup. The white cowl or hood creates a nice frame for her face. The skin tones are beautiful. The hair also creates framing and interest. Lovely portrait. |

Peter--My background is in libraries so this image immediately gave me librarian vibes because of the board book. Granted, there usually aren't eleborate beds in a library, but still. The portrait of her face is very nice. The angle of her head and the fact that the eyes are very clear even with the glasses really works for me. Nice. |

Gerard--The dried "old" leaf and the "new" buds tell the story of renewal. The background does seem somewhat sterile, but the isolation also works for me. A very nice image. |

Barbara--I like Robin's words, "ghostly" and "unearthly." That's what appeals to me about this image. The intracate, lacy branches really benefit from this techique. It's a really neat image. |
