Hi, Pinaki! Thanks for the nice words. I like what you said regarding street photography and observation. That really is what it's all about. |

Ed, I like your comment about the look of resignation on the scooter-rider's face. I suspect this situation was old hat for him; he seemed pretty accustomed to cutting between the cars. |

Thanks, Gloria! I think the guy on the scooter gives the scene interest. Glad you enjoyed it. |

The colors are wonderful, Gloria. You caught the vendor looking right at the camera so the image feels very immediate. |

Hi Ed. This image has a nice quiet vibe. I really like the way their feet are coordinated. |

Hi Bruce -- I love this portrait! This is a beautiful appreciation of a face that seems to contain generations of Croatian history. The vegetables visible around her give context. I really like that they are suggested rather than explicitly shown, which is lovely. |

Hi Pinaki -- this is sort of a disturbing image. We can't see either man's face. The street performer on the left looks like an unhappy statue; and the guy on the right looks like he hasn't been to bed. I would crop a little tighter and straighten it. |

Sally, this is a neat image with the two kids dressed alike and the big bubbles. I agree with Ed's crop; it really makes the story about the boys and the bubbles. |

I love this image, Isaac. The yellow bus, the red hat, the corn cobs, the striped shirt, all add wonderful elements to this interesting image. Thanks for telling us the story behind the scene; it really adds a lot to the story to know the background. The upper right corner is another whole scene on its own. Super! |

Thanks, Bruce. I guess I feel that the car on the right balances the car on the left. I consider the subject of the image to be traffic so I wanted the cars to feature. |

Hi Isaac -- This image is a little bit of a puzzle. I wanted everyone to look at it before I explained it. The location is the busy circular traffic pattern in the Place de la Concorde in Paris. I'm in a car and I shot the image of the reflection in the passenger-side side-mirror, reflecting back at the traffic behind us. So the entire scene is a reflection in a mirror which is why everything's backwards. The thing I like most is the multiple versions of the scooter rider. |

Hi Tom. This image is so romantic and old fashioned (and I mean that in the best way). I agree that some of the window reflections, such as the street sign, detract from the image. They add busy-ness, but also because the sign looks too modern for the style of the photograph. I like the sepia-toned look! |

Hi Denise. The nice backlighting and detail make this study special. It's interesting how different the "atmosphere" is in Linda's version. Maybe the dark, moody leaf is like fall, and the brighter version is spring? I like both versions. |

Hi Linda -- My first thought was, how many tries did it take to get everyone in the air at the same time with good expressions on every face? You succeeded in capturing the exact right moment. I wouldn't change anything. |

Peter, this image tells such a neat story about a girl and her sheep. I think your crop works well. I assume the guy on the left in the dark suit is the judge, which completes the story of this agricultural competition. I love it! |

Gerard, I would use the b/w image for the competition. It emphasizes the forms and textures more which is what makes the shot interesting to me. It would be fun to do a series of flower/leaf combinations like this. Very nice! |

Barbara -- I really like the fact that you used a colorful object as a monochrome subject. This makes a nice abstract, still-life. Linda's higher contrast looks good. |
