Hi Michael -- This is kind of mysterious at first. It looks like architecture but the arches remind me of the natural stone arches one sees in Utah. I like the grafitti END at the end of the perspective. |

Linda -- What a great character shot! I think the even light works really well. The sunglasses are really the star attraction with the added attraction of the reflection. I think this is a wonderful image. |

Peter- Not sure I would want to run into these two in a dark alley. They convey lots of attitude. I had a little trouble seeing the hand tying the knot at first because of the dark tie and dark jacket. Interesting image. |

Gerard -- I love the minimalism of this image and the Rembrandt-style lighting. I also like that it is a mallet; not a hammer or a gavel. Mallet suggests old-fashioned craftsmanship to me. Very nice. |

Wow, Barbara! I looked at this for a few moments before I read your description and I was trying to figure out what was going on. I like your choice of subject for this double exposure because the straight lines and right angles of the chair get sort of tangled together. Very interesting image (I like the sepia). |

Thank you, Peter! You really nailed the elements I like about the shot. I'm very interested in images of groups of people (I have LOTS of such images and I'd like to use more of them for the discussion). I enjoyed your "reading" of the individual faces/body language. I also appreciate your mention of the blackness of the wetsuits. I like lots of detail in shadow/dark areas so I really don't want the black areas blocked up. Great feedback! |
