I was initially intetested in the "customized" way the platform is fitted around the tree trunk, but I love the radiating lines. I tend to like images that are unexpected or puzzeling in some way. I take your point about eliminating the tree comletely and making it about the lines and the figure. That would be a different image than my first idea -- nothing wrong with that. Thanks for the interesting feedback. I choose sepia for most of my monochrome images because it brings out details nicely; the warmth appeals to me visually; and I like a more even overall appearance with warmer shadows and softer highlights. Thanks for asking! |

Peter, she is on the phone so your "lines of communication" is very clever. I agree that the image is really about the radiating lines. I like lines, usually parrallel ones, but this "sun ray" pattern really caught my eye. Thanks for your intetesting comments! |

Hi Michael -- When I first saw the image I thought of Tuscany. I like how the road winds its way through the composition. The fields almost glow which is very beautiful. Congratulations on a lovely image. |

Linda -- what a remarkable image. The crumpled cab is the first thing I see, but the trailer canted at this crazy angle is like something out of a comic book and really tells the story for me. I'm so sorry your sister and her family had to go through such a terrible experience and hope they are doing okay. |

Hi Peter -- I love the title! The subject is very appealling and I particularlly like the hands holding the hair. In fact, I almost don't need the face although she looks great and is probably fun to work with because she's so expressive. A very fun image. It's always interesting to see what you do with your models. |

Hi Gerard -- I think dried up plants are often more beautiful because the structure is revealed. I like seeing the detail of the veins in the flower. I would likely crop quite a bit of the stem at the bottom and really feature the flower more. In any case, it's an interesting image. |

Hi Barbara -- I love the geometry of your image. The arrangement of the petals catches my eye first, and their beautifully smooth texture. Then the geometry of the center reveals itself which contrasts with the texture and tone of the petals and makes a very satisfying image. I don't mind the petals at the bottom going out of the frame, but I'm like that. Gerard makes a good point. |

Thanks, Gerard! I did not think of whimsey but I love that perspective and the comic book angle. I love all those radiating lines and the craftsmanship of the platform. Someone took a lot of care to customize the design to this individual tree (and rock). I appreciate your entertaining feedback. |
