99 Feb 23 Reply Hi Lance -- Great to hear from you. Indeed, this was shot with a Canon S95 point-and-shoot camera, set for raw and manual exposure. Thank you for the enthusiastic feedback. Feb 22nd
99 Feb 23 Reply Barbara -- Thanks! I like the reflections on the background windows, too. I got lucky with this scene. Feb 8th
99 Feb 23 Reply Peter -- Thanks for mentioning the bright spot in the lower left corner which needs to be fixed. I'm not so sure about the face and arms - they look okay to me but I appreciate the feedback. Feb 8th
99 Feb 23 Reply Gerard -- I can't say exactly where I focused because this was taken "on the move" as I was walking along. I saw the guy making bubbles and saw the kids reacting to them and just pointed, crossed my fingers, and pressed the shutter button. For street-type situations like this I keep my camera set at an exposure that's in the middle of the range; usually ISO 200 f5.6, then adjust the shutter speed as needed. As I adjusted the focal length to frame the image the f-stop re-set to f4. I'm glad you like the image. Feb 8th
99 Feb 23 Comment Michael -- What a fun project; it makes me want to try something similar. Nice job! Feb 8th
99 Feb 23 Comment Hi Linda -- What an exciting image! I like the chaos. One can practically hear the wings beating and the clamor as the birds take off. I would crop a little bit from each side just to tighten things up. The separated bird at the top is a great element. My eye keeps going to the darker area just below the "featured" bird on top which helps create a strong center that the rest of the image "hangs" from. Feb 8th
99 Feb 23 Comment Peter -- Your model is a wonderful subject. I've never tried to create a composit so I don't know the process but the image looks good to me. His mustache is so impressive it could be an image on its own. Sherlock Holmes came to mind at first; perhaps it's the setting. Will we see more images of this interesting gentleman? Feb 8th
99 Feb 23 Comment Gerard -- It takes nerve to show such a revealing self-portrait - wow! I like the immediacy and excruciating detail of this sharply focused study. Bravo! Feb 8th
99 Feb 23 Comment Barbara--Right away I thought of an octopus. I would like the detail-less black areas on the "octopus" to show more of the interesting texture of the wood. There is definately a scary face on the right. Fun image! Feb 8th
