For me this is all about texture; it is everywhere especially so down in the lower section. I like the shadows of the stamen and star like flower better in the mono version. Also the grouping of the stamen in the mono is not as chaotic as in the colour. What is interesting in the colour version is the amount of reflected yellow on to the white petals. |

Stuart, thanks for the feedback. I have done some rework as suggested and come up with this version. I think you may be onto something here. The crop at top takes out the distracting and unnecessary windows and the burned down highlights are less obtrusive. Keen to hear your take on it. |

This composition works well with the framing trees that reinforce the wintery feel and provide an uninterupted view through to the silos. It feels cold and uninviting and I think your darkening of the trees helps with that. I like the allocation of two thirds space for the sky providing an area for the branches to dominate. |

It is a subject begging to be photographed and you have done a good job particularly in the way you have positioned yourself to reveal two facets of the canon sitting beautifully in front of that dramatic sky. It gives the impression it is on the battle field. There are nice proportions of space all round so the canon is'nt crowded in the frame. Some may say contrast is too low but I think the level of contrast matches superbly with the subject. Has mood. |

It does'nt look posed. I like that you have cropped tight as the man's large hand in the original is quite dominant. I like the two contrasts of light/dark hair and short/tall models the latter of which lends itself to a natural diagonal composition. Background while busy is fine due to the isolation from subject courtesy of the shallow depth of field. |

Good subject matter for mono and the contrast is a very strong feature in this image. Tonal range is excellent and there is an abundance of detail. The railing from the bottom makes a compelling leading line that sweeps the viewer up to the black hole at the top. I would prefer if there was some more content on the left side effectively pushing the black hole more towards the centre. |

Easy to understand why they are called a dazzle. This quartet has been captured perfectly all being separate with no overlapping bodies. They really stand out from the plain muted background not just because of their stripes but because they are so well lit in comparison. A lively image where the dust just tops it off. |
