It is one side of a public baths in Lake Macquarie, Australia's largest salt water lake. Located at Belmont New South Wales. The barriers keep unwanted critters out (stingrays, jellyfish and even sharks which are becoming more prevalent in the lake since they stopped commercial fishing maybe 20 years or more ago). There are not many setups like this in Australia so it is quite iconic. |

The bushland surrounding provides context for the subject which is nicely positioned in a gap so that it is on full view. Tonal range and contrast are both strong and the loose framing works well. It is an enchanting image and a touch poetic. Exposure is spot on. |

Going in close was'nt a bad option here as it emphasizes an important part of the loco. The sense of steel comes through strong with those linkages almost silver in colour and they contrast really well with the darker tones. The long straight steel rod behind the linkages leads nicely through the image. |

Considering the wide angle I think you have done well to control the perspective and I like the angle where we get to see two sides of the building. Tonal range is good and there is a lot of detail on offer in the stonework and the roof. I also quite like the trees either side providing some framing. |
