A very engaging image. Moody with beautiful luminosity and the softness works nicely to convey the sense of movement and flight. The viewpoint at eye level places the viewer in the marshes and to me this aspect provides great impact. Shadow treatment in the wings reveals the feather detail and the highlights have been well contained on the other wing. Agree with the three background elements being a distraction but the overall beauty over rides that. |

I dont think the mono conversion has worked as I see colour in a few places most noticeably in the shadow almost dead centre and beneath the circular element on the left. My main concern is the cage is sharp but the machine is very soft especially toward the back. Lighting conditions have made this a challenging assignment. |

There is a great range of tones and the mono suits well. Those people on the escalator play a vital role to provide scale and without them the mall would look rather empty. The BOSS signs contrast well with the lighter background and while they do compete for attention they also force me to explore the area and detail around the escalator then upward to the ceiling round the sides and back to the bottom then repeat so I find that very effective. The squarish format works well with that. |

The deep blacks really dominate and being devoid of detail it is hard to interpret the actual form of the structures and whether they line up east/ west or north/south. I like the contrast in the lines of bricks/ pavement but overall find it an uneasy image and a bit harsh on the viewer. |

Captured at the right moment. The mono conversion has rendered good shadow detail and long range of tones. The ripples bottom right make a strong leading line and the water drops add further interest. Shame you could'nt fit the top of the wing in the frame as that would have led to being able to consider a vertical format which I think would work quite well not that there is anything wrong with going with horizontal. |
