This appeals to me. The inclusion of the golf bag stitches the story together and while there may be no golf trophies amongst them there is an implied connection. The tonal range is first class and you have probably shot from the optimum angle to reveal as much detail as possible. Following on from Stuart's comment, many local Councils in Australia allow 2 kerbside pickups per year where you put all your junk on the footpath (sidewalk) and they collect it on a given day. The idea is for cleaner homes and less illegal dumping of rubbish in the bush. Scavengers will drive around and salvage anything useful that they can make a dollar off. While out on my usual walks I have found a few useful items including a set of golf clubs. Its a very good place to find picture frames and random pieces of timber. |

The lone cactus leads upward and then the eye naturally follows the ridge lines up and up to the top right creating a successsful composition. The cactus also provides a realistic sense of depth and scale. Its a very good landscape. I'd prefer a tad darker and a little more contrast. I am curious about the 6.86mm setting- does that equate to extremely wide angle? |

Nice separation of the bird from the background and it contrasts well against it. I like all the feather detail and the pin sharp eye. The act of takeoff with the feathers flying back provides strong impact and conveys a sense of movement so you have nailed that aspect. Could the feet have been included? I would be interested to see that. Solid mono image. |

I like that you have not been tempted to crop out a lot of the surrounding area so that you do show the habitat and give the bird space to roam. The conversion to mono simplifies the background which is very prominent in the colour version. Possibly a little burn of the right side of bank to match the left side density would improve the image as I'm pulled up to that area due to the brightness. The bird contrasts well with the background water/ reflections. |

The circles, curves and swirls all work well together to create interest. I found that the further back I got from the computer screen (to about two metres) the better the visual effect which makes me think it would probably look good as framed wall art. The frost has worked in your favour as it really defines the pattern and detail. Good subject for posterization. |

I too disagree with the artwork comment as it is a built structure based on architects design. The part of the building you show is graphically interesting courtesy of the shapes, lines and good range of tones. While there is no specific focal point the image still has strong impact and makes a good mono. |
